Short answer: not directly. Addepar has not published an official MCP server, so there is no standardized way to plug an AI assistant straight into your Addepar portfolio view today. Addepar does offer a developer API for advisors, partners and integrators, but that's a custom integration built for firms, not a plug-and-play connector you turn on from a chat assistant. If you want an AI assistant to actually reason over your real accounts — the same held-away, cross-custodian picture Addepar gives your advisor — the practical path right now is to connect those underlying accounts to Truthifi and let Truthifi hand that picture to any MCP-capable assistant.

What Addepar does

Addepar is a wealth-management technology platform built for financial advisors, RIAs, family offices and institutions. Its core job is aggregating, analyzing and reporting on client portfolios, including the kinds of held-away and alternative assets — private funds, direct real estate, complex multi-custodian holdings — that are hard to see in a single brokerage statement. For an advisory firm, Addepar is the back-office lens that turns scattered custodian data into one consolidated reporting and analytics layer for client households.

If you're an Addepar user, you're most likely one of two people. You're an advisor or operations professional at a firm that runs its reporting on Addepar, or you're an investor whose advisor uses Addepar behind the scenes to build the statements and reports you see.

Does Addepar have an MCP server or API?

As of this writing, Addepar has not published an official MCP server. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the emerging standard that lets AI assistants call out to external data sources in a structured, assistant-friendly way, and Addepar has not shipped a version of that interface.

What Addepar does offer is the Addepar API — a developer platform aimed at RIAs, partners and integrators who want programmatic access to portfolio and reporting data for building their own tools and workflows. That's a meaningful capability, but it's a developer integration meant for firms with engineering resources, not a standardized MCP interface and not something an individual household can "turn on" to connect a personal AI assistant.

What this means for connecting an AI assistant

Here's the distinction that matters: Addepar is not a bank, brokerage or crypto exchange, and it isn't one of the custodians Truthifi links directly. Addepar sits one layer up — it's the reporting platform your advisor's firm runs on top of your actual bank, brokerage and custodian accounts. Truthifi doesn't connect to Addepar itself. Instead, Truthifi reads the underlying bank, brokerage and custodian accounts you link to it, which is the same category of account data Addepar is built to aggregate and report on for your advisor.

So an AI assistant can't get "your Addepar account data" through Truthifi, because Addepar isn't an account — it's a reporting layer over accounts. What an AI assistant can get, through Truthifi, is read-only visibility into the actual bank and brokerage accounts in your household, which is the raw material Addepar-style reporting is built from in the first place.

Setting up AI access to your real accounts through Truthifi

  1. Create a free Truthifi account. Start free and skip Addepar entirely for this part — you're connecting your actual accounts, not Addepar's reporting layer.

  2. Link your bank and brokerage accounts. Truthifi connects through established aggregators, not through Addepar, so you're linking the same underlying custodian accounts your advisor's Addepar reporting already draws from.

  3. Let Truthifi run its checks. Truthifi reviews fees, exposure, concentration and other findings across everything you've linked.

  4. Connect an MCP-capable AI assistant to Truthifi. This is the step that gives your assistant structured, read-only access to your linked accounts.

  5. Authorize the connection. On the authorization screen, select Authorize to grant access.

  6. Ask your assistant about your real portfolio. Once connected, your assistant can reason over the actual household picture, not a hypothetical one.

What you can ask once it's connected

Once your accounts are linked and an assistant is connected through Truthifi, you can ask things like:

  • "What's my total exposure to large-cap tech across every account I hold?"

  • "Which of my accounts are charging the highest fees?"

  • "Summarize my household's asset allocation in plain language."

  • "Are any of my accounts concentrated in a single stock or sector?"

These are the same kinds of cross-account questions an Addepar-powered advisor report is designed to answer — the difference is your AI assistant can now answer them directly, on demand.

With Addepar, without Truthifi

Without Truthifi, Addepar gives your advisory firm a consolidated, held-away-aware view of your accounts, but that view lives inside the firm's reporting tools. Your personal AI assistant has no path into it. If you want your assistant to see your real numbers, you'd be manually copying figures from statements or reports, which is slow and easy to get wrong.

With Addepar and Truthifi

With Truthifi connected, you keep whatever Addepar-based reporting your advisor already provides, and you add a direct, read-only line from your real accounts into your own AI assistant. You're not replacing your advisor's Addepar reporting — you're giving yourself (and your assistant) an independent, always-current view of the same underlying accounts, available any time you want to ask a question rather than waiting for the next report.

How Truthifi can help

Truthifi is built to be the consumer and household-side bridge that connects your real bank, brokerage and crypto accounts to any MCP-capable AI assistant, safely. Connecting is read-only for bank and brokerage accounts, and your bank login credentials are entered with the aggregator, never with Truthifi. Truthifi never receives, sees or stores your bank username or password. You can revoke an assistant's access at any time from Connections → Agents → ⋯ → Revoke.

FAQ

Does Addepar have an official MCP server? No. As of this writing, Addepar has not published an official MCP server.

Can I get my AI assistant to read my Addepar account directly? Not directly. Addepar is a reporting and analytics platform your advisor's firm uses, not an account Truthifi links. Truthifi instead reads the underlying bank, brokerage and custodian accounts your Addepar-based reporting is built from.

Does Addepar have a public API? Yes. Addepar offers a developer API aimed at RIAs, partners and integrators for programmatic access to portfolio and reporting data. It's a firm-level developer integration, not a consumer MCP connector.

Is my data safe if I connect my accounts to Truthifi? Connecting bank and brokerage accounts through Truthifi is read-only. Your login credentials go to the aggregator, never to Truthifi, and Truthifi never sees or stores your bank username or password.

Do I need to stop using my advisor or Addepar to use Truthifi? No. Truthifi complements the reporting your advisor already provides, and it's worth noting Truthifi is not an investment adviser and doesn't give investment, tax or legal advice.
