Short answer: not directly. Brex does not publish an official MCP server as of this writing, so there's no plug-and-play way to hand an AI assistant a live feed of your Brex spend and expense data. What you can do instead is link the accounts your Brex activity actually touches to Truthifi, and let your AI read those through Truthifi's MCP server. You don't get Brex's own categorization and expense workflow that way, but you do get the real money movement your Brex spend creates, sitting next to the rest of your financial picture.

What Brex does

Brex is a corporate card and spend-management platform built for businesses: corporate cards, expense tracking, bill pay and related finance tooling. It's a payroll/expense-adjacent tool, not a bank or brokerage where you hold balances and investment positions in the way Truthifi aggregates accounts. That distinction matters for what an AI assistant can and can't meaningfully "see" when someone asks it to reason about Brex.

Does Brex have an MCP server or API?

There is no official Brex MCP server as of this writing. If that changes, this page should be updated to reflect it rather than assumed. On the API side, this page only notes a Brex developer API where it's confirmed and publicly documented. It does not assert the existence or scope of one beyond what's verifiably known, so treat any API claim about Brex with the same caution until a dated source confirms it.

Because Brex sits in the expense/spend-management category rather than the bank-brokerage-crypto category Truthifi connects to directly, an AI assistant working through Truthifi does not get "programmatic access to your Brex account data" or "balances, holdings, and transactions across Brex." What it does get is visibility into the underlying bank, card and brokerage accounts the user links to Truthifi — the accounts Brex spend actually settles against or draws from.

How to set this up, step by step

  1. Create a free Truthifi account.

  2. Connect the accounts where your Brex-related money actually lives — the checking and card accounts Brex charges, the accounts that receive reimbursements, and any investment or operating accounts you want your AI to see alongside them.

  3. Confirm the connections and let Truthifi pull in balances and transaction history for those linked accounts.

  4. Connect your AI assistant to Truthifi through Truthifi's MCP server, following the in-app authorization flow.

  5. Authorize the connection on the Authorize screen when prompted.

  6. Ask your AI assistant questions about your real account data, now that it can read what Truthifi has linked.

  7. Revoke access any time from Connections → Agents → ⋯ → Revoke, if you want to disconnect your AI assistant later.

What you can ask

Once the underlying accounts are connected, a Brex user can ask their AI assistant things like:

  • "What's my current balance across the accounts I use for business spend?"

  • "Show me recent large transactions on the card linked to my Brex account."

  • "How much cash moved out of my checking account this month toward expense reimbursements?"

  • "Does my current cash position across accounts look tight relative to typical outflows?"

The AI is reasoning over the bank, card and brokerage data Truthifi has, not over Brex's own expense categories or approval workflow. It won't know a transaction was tagged "travel" in Brex unless that same detail is visible on the underlying account statement.

With and without Truthifi

Without Truthifi: your AI assistant has no way to see your Brex-related spend in context with the rest of your finances. It can only work with whatever you manually describe or paste in, and it has no live view of the bank and card accounts your Brex activity runs through.

With Truthifi: your AI can read the actual bank, card and brokerage accounts tied to your Brex spend, alongside every other account you've linked. That's not Brex's own expense dashboard, but it's a real, current picture of where the money sits and moves, which is often what someone actually wants when they ask an AI about their finances.

How Truthifi can help

Truthifi doesn't connect to Brex directly, and it doesn't aggregate Brex account data the way it does a bank or brokerage account. What it does is read the real accounts your Brex activity touches — the checking account Brex draws from, the card linked to it, any brokerage or investment account you hold. It makes those readable by your AI assistant, read-only, for your bank and brokerage accounts. That gives your AI a fuller, factual basis for reasoning about your finances than Brex alone, or a generic AI session with no account access at all, can provide. Truthifi is not an investment adviser and doesn't give investment, tax or legal advice.

FAQ

Does Brex have an official MCP server? Not as of this writing. There is no official Brex MCP server to connect your AI assistant to directly.

Can my AI assistant see my Brex transactions through Truthifi? Not directly. Truthifi doesn't aggregate Brex account data. It can read the bank, card and brokerage accounts your Brex spend actually moves through, once you link those accounts to Truthifi.

Why can't Truthifi just connect to Brex the way it connects to my bank? Brex is a spend-management and corporate card platform, not a bank, brokerage or crypto exchange. Truthifi aggregates bank, brokerage and crypto accounts through its aggregator connections; Brex falls outside that scope.

Is this read-only? Yes, for the bank and brokerage accounts you connect to Truthifi. Your AI can read that data; it isn't making changes to your accounts.

What if Brex releases an official MCP server later? This page should be revisited and updated if that happens. As of this writing, no official Brex MCP server exists.
