Short answer: Citi does not publish an official MCP server as of this writing, so there's no direct "Citi MCP" for your AI assistant to plug into. But most Citi customers don't actually need one. What they need is their AI being able to see the full Citi relationship — checking, savings, card, maybe a loan or a linked brokerage account — netted against everything they hold outside Citi. Truthifi gets you there today by connecting your Citi accounts through its aggregator partners, not by waiting on Citi to ship a server.

That distinction matters because a typical Citi customer rarely has just one Citi product. Someone might run a Citi checking account for day-to-day spending, a Citi card for rewards, and have a personal loan or a Citi-linked brokerage account sitting alongside it. Layer on an employer 401(k), an outside brokerage account, and maybe a crypto wallet. The real question isn't "does Citi have an MCP." It's whether any single assistant can see the whole picture: all of Citi, plus everything else, in one place, read-only.

What Citi Does

Citi is a bank. Its core business for individual customers runs through depository products — checking and savings accounts — along with credit cards, lending products, and, for many customers, brokerage and wealth accounts tied to the broader Citi relationship. For the purposes of connecting an AI assistant, what matters is that these are real, held-away financial accounts with balances and transaction histories, the same kind of data Truthifi already reads from banks and brokerages through its aggregator partners.

Does Citi Have an MCP Server or API?

No official Citi MCP server exists as of this writing. Large banks are a mixed bag here. Some have begun experimenting with developer APIs or agent-facing tooling. Truthifi has not identified a public, official Citi API or MCP server for individual customers to connect directly to their own account data. Don't assume one exists, and treat any third-party claim of a "Citi MCP" with skepticism unless it points to something Citi itself publishes.

That's where Truthifi fits the Partner-Complement Principle: Citi is excellent at being a bank. Truthifi's job is to be the layer that makes Citi's accounts — and every other account a customer holds — legible to an AI assistant, without Citi needing to build or maintain an agent-facing server of its own.

How to Connect Citi to Your AI Assistant Through Truthifi

  1. Create a free Truthifi account.

  2. From your dashboard, choose to link a new institution and search for Citi.

  3. You'll be redirected to Citi's own login screen through Truthifi's aggregator partner. Your Citi credentials are entered there, not on Truthifi.

  4. Select which Citi accounts to link — checking, savings, card, loan, or brokerage, as applicable.

  5. Confirm the connection. Truthifi begins pulling balances and transaction history for the accounts you selected.

  6. Connect any other institutions you want visible alongside Citi — other banks, brokerages, or crypto exchanges.

  7. In Truthifi, authorize your AI assistant or agent to read your connected account data. The button to confirm is labeled Authorize.

  8. Ask your assistant questions across your full account picture, Citi included.

What You Can Ask Once It's Connected

Once your Citi accounts are linked and your AI assistant is authorized to read them, you can ask things like:

  • "What's my combined balance across my Citi checking and savings accounts right now?"

  • "How much did I spend on my Citi card last month, broken down by category?"

  • "What's my total debt across my Citi loan and any other loans I hold?"

  • "If I pulled money from my Citi brokerage account, how would that change my overall allocation across all my accounts?"

  • "Am I holding more cash at Citi than I am everywhere else combined?"

These are the questions a customer with several Citi products and outside accounts actually asks, and they require seeing Citi and everything else at once.

With Citi Alone vs. With Citi Plus Truthifi

With Citi alone: you can see each Citi product through Citi's own app or site, one at a time. Your checking balance, your card activity, your loan balance, your brokerage holdings, if any, each live in their own view. Your AI assistant, if it can see any of it at all, likely cannot see it without you manually pasting in numbers, and it has no way to net that against what you hold at other institutions.

With Citi plus Truthifi: your Citi accounts and your outside accounts live in one connected picture, readable by your AI assistant. The assistant can reason across the whole relationship, Citi included, rather than guessing from a screenshot or an outdated memory of your balances.

How Truthifi Can Help

Truthifi connects to Citi the same way it connects to thousands of other financial institutions: through its aggregator partners, not by requiring Citi to publish its own API or MCP server. That means a customer doesn't have to wait for Citi to build agent-facing infrastructure to get their Citi accounts read by an AI assistant today. Truthifi reads balances and transactions across checking, card, lending and brokerage accounts at Citi, the same way it does at the institutions it already supports, and surfaces that data to an authorized assistant alongside every other account the customer connects. Truthifi is not an investment adviser and doesn't give investment, tax or legal advice.

FAQ
