If you use Copilot Money to track spending, you already have a clean picture of where your money goes. What you don't have, yet, is a way to hand that picture to an AI assistant and ask it questions that go beyond categorized transactions — questions about your investments, your net worth, or how a new expense fits against everything else you own. Copilot Money does not publish an official MCP server as of this writing, so there is no direct line from the app into tools like Claude or a custom agent. Truthifi closes that gap a different way: it reads the same underlying bank, brokerage, and card accounts Copilot Money itself pulls from, once you link them to Truthifi, so your AI assistant can reason across your full financial picture, not just the spending view.

What Copilot Money does

Copilot Money is a budgeting and personal finance management app. It links to your bank and card accounts, categorizes your spending automatically, and gives you a day-to-day read on your cash flow and budget. Like most modern budgeting apps, Copilot Money is itself an aggregator of sorts: it connects out to your financial institutions to pull transaction data, then layers its own categorization and budgeting tools on top. It is not a custodial account and does not hold your money. It is a lens on accounts that live elsewhere.

Does Copilot Money have an MCP server or API?

Copilot Money does not have an official MCP server as of this writing. There is no confirmed public developer API that would let a third-party AI tool connect to Copilot Money directly and read your budgeting data. We'll revisit this page if Copilot Money ever ships one. Until then, treat any claim that an AI assistant can plug straight into Copilot Money with skepticism.

This matters because Copilot Money is a non-aggregated provider from Truthifi's perspective. Truthifi does not connect to Copilot Money directly and cannot give an AI assistant programmatic access to "your Copilot Money account data." Instead, Truthifi reads your linked bank, brokerage and card accounts on its own, independently of Copilot Money. That gives your AI assistant a view of the same underlying accounts Copilot Money categorizes, plus investments and other holdings Copilot Money may not show at all.

Setting up your accounts so an AI assistant can read them

  1. Create a free Truthifi account.

  2. Link the bank, brokerage, and card accounts you want your AI assistant to see. These are the same underlying accounts that feed Copilot Money's budgeting view, linked independently through Truthifi's own aggregation.

  3. Confirm each connection and let Truthifi pull in balances, holdings, and transactions.

  4. Connect your AI assistant to Truthifi and grant it access by tapping Authorize when prompted.

  5. Ask your AI assistant a question that spans accounts, investments, or net worth, and see it reason over real, current data.

What you can ask once it's connected

A Copilot Money user already knows what they spent on dining out last month. The questions that stay out of reach, today, are the ones that cross into investments and the bigger picture:

  • "How does this month's spending compare to my overall net worth trend, not just my budget?"

  • "If I keep spending at this rate, what does that do to my investable assets by year end?"

  • "Across my bank, brokerage, and card accounts, where is money actually concentrated right now?"

  • "What changed in my investment accounts this week, and does it affect my budget?"

These are the questions a budgeting app alone isn't built to answer, because they require seeing accounts a budgeting app doesn't necessarily aggregate, held together in one place an AI can query.

With and without Truthifi

Without Truthifi, your AI assistant knows only what you tell it. It cannot see your Copilot Money categories, your brokerage balances, or how your spending this month relates to your total net worth. Any answer it gives about your finances is a guess dressed up as analysis.

With Truthifi, your AI assistant can read your actual linked bank, brokerage, and card accounts and reason across all of them at once. It sees the full picture Copilot Money's budgeting view was never designed to show: investments, concentration, and net worth alongside spending.

How Truthifi can help

Truthifi is not a replacement for Copilot Money. Copilot Money is still a strong tool for day-to-day budgeting and spend categorization, and nothing here changes that. Truthifi is the layer that makes your real financial accounts, including the ones Copilot Money doesn't necessarily cover, readable by an AI assistant. Because Copilot Money has no official MCP server, Truthifi's own aggregation of your bank, brokerage, and card accounts is the practical way to get an AI assistant real, current numbers rather than ones you type in by hand. Read-only access to your bank and brokerage accounts means an AI can see your positions and balances without any ability to move money. Truthifi is not an investment adviser and doesn't give investment, tax or legal advice.

FAQ

Does Copilot Money have an MCP server? No. Copilot Money does not publish an official MCP server as of this writing. There is no confirmed public developer API for third-party AI connections either.

Can my AI assistant see my Copilot Money budgeting data directly? Not through Copilot Money itself. Truthifi doesn't connect to Copilot Money directly. Instead, it reads the underlying bank, brokerage, and card accounts you link to Truthifi, which gives your AI assistant a view of the same accounts plus investments Copilot Money may not include.

Is Truthifi a replacement for Copilot Money? No. Copilot Money remains a capable budgeting and spend-categorization app. Truthifi complements it by making your broader set of financial accounts readable by an AI assistant.

Will this page be updated if Copilot Money releases an MCP server? Yes. This page reflects Copilot Money's MCP and API status as of this writing and will be revisited if that changes.

Is access to my accounts read-only? Yes, for bank and brokerage accounts connected through Truthifi. Your AI assistant can read balances, holdings, and transactions, not move money.
