If you're asking whether your AI assistant can read your MetaMask wallet the way it reads a bank account, the honest answer is: not directly, and not yet through an official channel. MetaMask is a self-custody wallet, not an account an aggregator can log into on your behalf, so there's no official MetaMask MCP server as of this writing. What you can do is get your AI a full financial picture through Truthifi, built from the accounts you actually link — your banks, brokerages, and cards. Treat on-chain holdings as a separate piece you track yourself for now.

This guide explains what MetaMask does, what MCP support looks like today, and what you can realistically ask an AI assistant once Truthifi is in the loop.

What MetaMask does

MetaMask is a self-custody crypto wallet. It lets you hold private keys to your own crypto and tokens, interact with Ethereum and other EVM-compatible networks, and connect directly to decentralized apps. Unlike a bank or brokerage account, there's no institution on the other end holding your assets and no login credentials an aggregator can use to pull your balances. You, and only you, control the keys. That's the whole point of self-custody — and it's also why a wallet behaves differently from an aggregated account when it comes to AI visibility.

Does MetaMask have an MCP server or API?

As of this writing, there's no official MetaMask MCP server. Should that change, we'll revisit this page and update it accordingly. We won't state that an official MCP exists without a verifiable source, and we recommend treating any third-party claim of a "MetaMask MCP" with the same scrutiny until MetaMask itself confirms a server.

MetaMask does expose developer-facing interfaces used by dapps and wallet integrations, but a self-custody wallet is architecturally different from a bank or brokerage account that an aggregator can connect to with your permission. There's no username-and-password login for an aggregator to use, because there's no custodian — just keys you hold. That distinction matters for anyone expecting Truthifi, or any other AI-finance tool, to read a MetaMask wallet the same way it reads a linked bank account.

Setting up AI access to your financial picture (via Truthifi)

Since MetaMask itself isn't something Truthifi connects to directly, the practical setup path runs through the accounts you do link:

  1. Create a free Truthifi account and sign in.

  2. Connect the bank, brokerage, and card accounts you want your AI to see. Truthifi reads these linked accounts, not your MetaMask wallet directly.

  3. Review what's been linked and confirm balances, holdings, and transactions look right.

  4. Set up your AI assistant to work with Truthifi's connectors, following the prompts in Truthifi's connection flow.

  5. Ask your AI assistant a question about your linked accounts to confirm it can see and reason about them.

  6. Keep your on-chain holdings and your linked-account picture separate for now, and factor both in manually when you want a full net-worth view.

What you can ask

Once your linked accounts are connected through Truthifi, a MetaMask user can reasonably ask an AI assistant things like:

  • "What's my total balance across my linked bank and brokerage accounts?"

  • "Have any of my linked accounts had unusual transactions this month?"

  • "How are my brokerage holdings allocated right now?"

What you generally can't ask yet, without manual input, is anything that depends on MetaMask balances or on-chain token holdings being automatically pulled in — because there's no official connector doing that pull today. A self-custody wallet's contents aren't visible to an aggregator the way a bank balance is, so until that changes, on-chain amounts have to be added by hand if you want them reflected in the same picture.

With and Without Truthifi

Without Truthifi: Your AI assistant, if it has any financial visibility at all, is working from whatever you've typed in or a single disconnected app. It has no real-time read on your linked bank and brokerage accounts, and it certainly has no automated view into a self-custody wallet like MetaMask, because no aggregator can log into a wallet you alone control.

With Truthifi: Your AI assistant can see the accounts you've linked — banks, brokerages, and cards — kept current without you re-entering anything. Your MetaMask holdings stay outside that automated picture for now, but you can still choose to track them alongside everything else by hand, so your AI at least has the full context even if the on-chain piece isn't live-synced.

How Truthifi can help

Truthifi's job is to be the connective layer between your real financial accounts and the AI assistant you already use. It doesn't replace MetaMask and it isn't trying to be a wallet. It reads whatever bank, brokerage, and card accounts you choose to link, keeps that data current, and makes it something your AI can actually reason about. For a self-custody wallet holder, that means the AI finally has visibility into the rest of your financial life, even while the wallet itself stays outside any automated connector, exactly as self-custody intends. FAQ

Does MetaMask have an official MCP server? Not as of this writing. If MetaMask publishes one, this page will be updated.

Can Truthifi read my MetaMask wallet directly? No. MetaMask is a self-custody wallet with no login an aggregator can use. Truthifi reads the bank, brokerage, and card accounts you connect, not the wallet itself.

Why can't an aggregator just connect to a wallet like it connects to a bank? Because self-custody means there's no institution holding your assets and no credential-based login to connect through. The keys are yours alone, which is the security model MetaMask is built on.

Will my AI assistant ever see my on-chain holdings automatically? That depends on whether an official connector or MCP server for MetaMask becomes available. Until then, on-chain holdings aren't part of the automated picture and need to be tracked manually if you want them included.

What can my AI assistant actually see today if I use Truthifi? The bank, brokerage, and card accounts you link through Truthifi stay current and give your AI assistant something to reason over.
