An AI is only as useful as what it can see. Connect Robinhood — and the rest of your accounts — to your AI assistant, read-only, and it can answer real questions about your money instead of generic ones. No code, about three minutes, free to start.

If your Robinhood account is one slice of a bigger picture — a 401(k) somewhere, an old brokerage somewhere else, some crypto — and you've never seen your real net worth or your true allocation as one view, that's not on you. It lives in pieces across logins that don't talk to each other. Bring them together and your AI can finally reason about all of it at once.

What is an MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a secure, read-on-demand link between your accounts and your AI — you grant it, and you can revoke it. Instead of copy-pasting numbers, the assistant reads live through a connection you control. It's an open standard — introduced by Anthropic and since adopted by OpenAI and others — so a growing range of AI assistants support it. A "Robinhood MCP" means a connector that brings your Robinhood data to your AI this way.

Does Robinhood have an MCP server?

Yes — as of May 27, 2026, Robinhood offers its own official MCP (a Trading MCP and a Banking MCP, part of its "agentic" lineup). Two things are worth understanding about what it's built for:

  • It's execution-oriented and sandboxed — the trading MCP acts within a separate, dedicated agentic account you fund for that purpose, not a read-only view of your whole Robinhood portfolio.

  • It sees Robinhood only — by design, it doesn't reach the rest of your financial life.

There are also community-built, read-only options — verygoodplugins/robinhood-mcp and the jmfernandes/robin_stocks library it builds on — for pulling Robinhood data, though they involve a developer setup and an unofficial sign-in.

So if what you want is a read-only view of Robinhood and every other account, in one place your AI can reason over, that's a different job — and where a connector like Truthifi Connect comes in (below — or learn more).

What Robinhood does

Robinhood is a commission-free brokerage built for simple, mobile-first investing.1 It offers:

  • Commission-free stocks, ETFs, and options, plus crypto, futures, and event contracts.

  • Retirement accounts (IRAs) with a contribution match for eligible members.

  • Robinhood Gold — a paid tier with higher rates and research features.

  • A clean mobile experience that brought a generation into investing.

Robinhood Gold runs $5/month (or $50/year), with the standard commission-free model on stocks and ETFs.1

About Robinhood: founded in 2013 by Vlad Tenev and Baiju Bhatt · headquartered in Menlo Park, California · publicly traded (NASDAQ: HOOD) · 27.4 million funded customers as of Q1 2026 · authentication for Truthifi via a secure, read-only connection.

Good to know about Robinhood

Quick answers to what people ask most, with Robinhood's own resources:2

  • What does it cost? Trading is commission-free; Robinhood Gold is $5/month or $50/year for higher rates and added features. (Gold)

  • Does Robinhood have an API? Yes for crypto (an official Crypto Trading API); for equities, the official programmatic path is now its agentic Trading MCP (execution, in a dedicated account).

  • Is it safe to connect? Truthifi's connection is read-only by architecture — it can read balances and holdings, never trade or move money. More below.

  • Will the data stay clean for an AI? Any tool that aggregates accounts depends on connections that occasionally need reconnecting. Keeping that data clean once an AI is reading it is its own job — and what Truthifi's data layer is built for:

  • Decoded, not raw — 400+ semantic decoders turn cryptic lines into clean, labeled data your AI can read.

  • Errors and gaps corrected — 100+ continuous checks fix the mislabels, duplicates, and gaps raw feeds introduce.

  • Securities identified — tickers and holdings get resolved, so investments read clearly.

  • One view across 18,000+ institutions — the cross-account answers that only appear when everything's in one place.

  • A 99.7% data-accuracy standard — verified numbers your AI can trust, with fee and benchmark detection on top.

  • What about my other accounts? Robinhood shows your Robinhood holdings; your true net worth and allocation live across every account together — which is exactly where an AI connector adds the most.

That last one is where adding Truthifi to your setup shines.

How Truthifi can help

Truthifi Connect links your real accounts to your AI assistant and brings your whole financial picture into one view your AI can reason about: every account across 18,000+ institutions, decoded into clean data rather than a raw feed — read-only by architecture, and from an independent source with no products to sell and no commissions, so the only thing done with your data is connecting it to the AI you choose. With it connected, you can ask:

  • "What's my net worth across every account right now?"

  • "Across all my accounts — not just Robinhood — am I too concentrated in any one stock?"

  • "What am I really paying in fees across everything I hold?"

  • "Am I on track to retire, given all of it?"

Picture a Robinhood investor who also has a 401(k) at a former employer, an old brokerage account, and some crypto. Robinhood shows the Robinhood slice — but "across everything, what's my real allocation, and am I on track?" has always lived in separate logins. With those accounts connected read-only, the AI answers it in one question. And the first time people link a second account, they often catch something a single app hid — two funds that mostly hold the same stocks, or a fee that never showed up on one screen.

A note on the difference: Robinhood's own MCP is built to act — to trade inside a dedicated account. Truthifi is built to see — a read-only, whole-picture, cross-institution view your AI can reason over. They're complementary: keep trading in Robinhood; add Truthifi so your AI understands everything you own.

The question

Your accounts today

With Truthifi + your AI

What's my net worth?

One app shows one slice

One answer, every account, decoded

What am I paying in fees?

Buried across accounts

Surfaced and totaled

Am I too concentrated?

Hard to see across logins

Checked across everything you hold

Keeping it current

Manual, account by account

Always live, read-only, decoded

Is it safe to connect my accounts?

The safeguards are structural, not promises:

  • Read-only by architecture. Truthifi can't move money, place trades, or change a setting — the constraint lives in the connection, not the terms of service.

  • Credentials never seen or stored. Your login is encrypted in your browser and passed straight to the aggregator (Plaid, Yodlee, or Morningstar ByAllAccounts), which returns a read-only token.

  • Every request logged. You get a timestamped, per-request record of exactly what each AI accessed and when.

  • AES-256 encryption in transit and at rest, and you control access per account — revoke it anytime, in your assistant's connector settings or inside Truthifi.

How to connect your accounts to your AI assistant

The whole setup runs in your browser — no command line, on any MCP-capable assistant.

  1. Create a free Truthifi account at truthifi.com — no credit card for the free tier.

  2. Link your accounts — Robinhood plus your other brokerages, retirement, bank, and crypto accounts — through Truthifi's secure Plaid, Yodlee, or Morningstar ByAllAccounts connection.

  3. Turn on MCP access — the free tier confirms linking; live AI access needs a paid Truthifi plan (see truthifi.com/pricing).

  4. Add Truthifi to your assistant. The connector URL is the same everywhere: https://api.truthifi.com/mcp. In your assistant, open its connector settings (usually Settings → Connectors), add a custom connector named Truthifi, paste the URL, and authorize. (Most assistants require a paid plan for custom connectors; for exact steps, see the connect guides linked below.)

  5. Turn it on and ask: "What's my net worth, and am I on track to retire?"

What you can ask your AI

  • "What's my net worth across every account today?"

  • "Across all my holdings — not just Robinhood — where am I most concentrated, and is that a risk?"

  • "Total the fees I'm paying across every account this year, and show the 10-year cost at 7% growth."

  • "Am I on track to retire at my current savings rate? Model conservative, moderate, and optimistic cases."

  • "Stress-test everything I own against a 2020-style drop: how far would I fall, and how long to recover?"

  • "Find any duplicate or overlapping holdings across my accounts I didn't realize I had."

  • "How much of my net worth is in crypto, across every place I hold it?"

Common questions about Robinhood

Is Robinhood safe to use? Robinhood is a regulated, publicly traded brokerage with SIPC-member protection on securities. Separately, connecting it to your AI through Truthifi is read-only — your AI can see balances and holdings, never trade or move money.

Does Robinhood have an API or MCP? Yes — an official Crypto Trading API, and as of May 2026 official agentic Trading/Banking MCP servers (built to act within a dedicated account). For a read-only view across Robinhood and your other accounts, Truthifi connects them all for your AI.

Are there alternatives to Robinhood? Plenty of brokerages exist, but if what you want is an AI that sees your whole financial life — Robinhood and every other account — that's a connector like Truthifi on top of the accounts you already have, not a different brokerage.

Why was my Robinhood order or transfer delayed? Brokerage transfers and settlement run on standard market timelines, and Robinhood posts status in-app; a connector like Truthifi reads your positions but doesn't change how the brokerage itself settles.

Do I need to write code? No. The entire Truthifi setup runs in your browser — no command line, API keys, or config files.

Which AI assistants does it work with? Any MCP-capable assistant. MCP is an open standard — introduced by Anthropic and adopted by OpenAI and others — so support is broad and growing.
