Short answer: not directly. Simplifi does not publish an official MCP server right now, so there is no sanctioned way to point an AI assistant straight at your Simplifi categories and budgets. If you want an AI assistant that can actually reason about your money, not just your spending categories, but your bank balances, brokerage holdings and net worth together, the practical path is Truthifi. Truthifi reads the underlying bank, brokerage and card accounts you link to it and makes that picture available to your AI through its own MCP connection.
If you already use Simplifi, you've solved half the problem: your spending is categorized and your budget is visible. The gap is what comes next. Your AI assistant can't see any of it, and it definitely can't put your spending next to your investment balances to answer a real net-worth question.
What Simplifi does
Simplifi, from Quicken, is a budgeting and personal-finance-management app. It links your bank and card accounts, categorizes transactions, tracks spending against a budget, and gives you a running read on cash flow. Like most PFM apps, Simplifi is itself an aggregator of sorts: it pulls in data from the accounts you connect to it so it can show you a unified spending view. It is not a custodial account and does not hold your money or securities — it's a window onto accounts you hold elsewhere.
That matters for what comes next. Because Simplifi is a view layer on top of your real accounts rather than a place your assets actually sit, "connecting an AI to Simplifi" isn't quite the right frame. What you actually want is your AI seeing the same underlying accounts Simplifi already shows you — plus the investment and net-worth side Simplifi isn't built to cover.
Does Simplifi have an MCP server or API?
There is no official Simplifi MCP server as of this writing. Quicken has not published one, and no fact-check for this page turned up a sanctioned developer API that third parties can build against for AI access to Simplifi data. Should Quicken publish one, we'll revisit this page. Today, Truthifi lets your AI assistant securely see your spending and income by category across the accounts you connect, read-only, without needing Simplifi to offer that itself.
Why you can't just point an AI at your Simplifi account data
Simplifi is a non-aggregated provider from Truthifi's perspective, meaning Truthifi doesn't connect to Simplifi itself. Even if an unofficial workaround existed, Simplifi isn't the place your financial data actually lives — your bank, brokerage and card accounts are. The accurate way to describe what's possible is this: Truthifi gives your AI assistant programmatic, read-only access to the bank, brokerage and card accounts you link to Truthifi — the same underlying accounts Simplifi already connects to for its own budgeting view. That's a meaningfully different, and more useful, capability than "access to your Simplifi account," because it covers the investment and net-worth picture Simplifi was never built to show.
How to set it up
Create a free Truthifi account. Sign up and start linking accounts — this step doesn't depend on Simplifi at all.
Link your bank, brokerage and card accounts to Truthifi. These are likely the same accounts you've already connected inside Simplifi for budgeting.
Let Truthifi run its checks. Truthifi reviews fees, exposure, concentration and account structure across everything you've linked.
Connect your AI assistant to Truthifi. In your AI assistant's settings, add Truthifi as a connected tool or agent.
Authorize the connection. Review the permissions screen and select Authorize.
Ask your AI assistant a real question. With the connection live, your AI can now reason across accounts Simplifi only shows you one at a time.
Keep using Simplifi for day-to-day budgeting and categorized spending — Truthifi isn't a replacement for it. Truthifi is what lets the picture Simplifi already builds extend into investments, net worth and an AI assistant that can reason across all of it.
What you can ask
Once your AI assistant is connected through Truthifi, it can go beyond what Simplifi's budget view was built to answer:
"I know my spending by category from Simplifi — now show me how that compares to my investment growth this year."
"What's my actual net worth across my bank accounts, brokerage and anything else I've linked?"
"Are any of my investment accounts carrying fees I should know about?"
"If I cut my discretionary spending by a set amount, how does that change my overall financial trajectory?"
"Pull together everything I own and owe into one picture."
These are investment, exposure and net-worth questions — the layer Simplifi's categorization doesn't reach, and that your AI assistant can't answer from Simplifi data alone.
With & Without Truthifi
Without Truthifi: Your AI assistant knows nothing about your Simplifi budget, your bank balances or your investments unless you type it in by hand, account by account, every time you ask something new. Simplifi shows you your spending; it doesn't feed that or anything else into your AI.
With Truthifi: Your AI assistant has standing, read-only access to the bank, brokerage and card accounts you've linked — the same accounts behind your Simplifi budget, plus the investment accounts Simplifi doesn't track. It can answer net-worth, fee and exposure questions on demand instead of waiting for you to assemble the numbers.
How Truthifi can help
Truthifi doesn't try to out-budget Simplifi. Simplifi is good at categorized spending and day-to-day cash flow, and there's no reason to replace that. What Truthifi adds is everything Simplifi's category view doesn't cover: your investment accounts, your net worth across all of it, fee transparency, and a read-only connection your AI assistant can actually use. Truthifi is read-only on bank and brokerage accounts, so neither it nor any AI assistant connected through it can move money or place trades. Truthifi is not an investment adviser and doesn't give investment, tax or legal advice.
FAQ
Does Simplifi have an official MCP server? No. There is no official Simplifi MCP server as of this writing.
Can my AI assistant see my Simplifi budget directly? Not through an official channel. Simplifi hasn't published an MCP server or a developer API for this kind of access.
If Truthifi doesn't connect to Simplifi, how does it help? Truthifi reads the same underlying bank, brokerage and card accounts you've already linked inside Simplifi for budgeting, then makes that data — plus your investment accounts — available to your AI assistant.
Will this let my AI assistant move money or make trades? No. Truthifi's connection to your bank and brokerage accounts is read-only.
Do I need to stop using Simplifi? No. Simplifi remains useful for day-to-day budgeting and spending categorization. Truthifi adds the investment, net-worth and AI-assistant layer on top.
