Short answer: Stash does not publish an official MCP server as of this writing, so no AI assistant can natively read your Stash account on its own. But you can still get your real Stash positions โ€” and everything else you hold elsewhere โ€” in front of your AI today, through Truthifi. If you've ever pasted a Stash screenshot into a chatbot and asked "how does this look," you already know the limits of that approach. It's a snapshot, not a connection, and it goes stale the moment you close the tab.

What Stash Does

Stash is a brokerage platform built around guided, automated investing. It's designed for people who want to start investing with small, regular contributions rather than manage a trading desk. Account holders use Stash to build diversified positions over time, often through recurring deposits into funds and individual stocks selected to match a goal or risk profile. Stash sits in the brokerage category of financial apps: it holds real positions, settles trades, and reports balances, holdings, and transaction history, the same core data any brokerage produces.

Does Stash Have an MCP Server or API?

No official Stash MCP server exists as of this writing. The Model Context Protocol lets an AI assistant query a service directly and reason over live data, but it only works where the provider has built and published a server for it. Stash has not done so. There is also no confirmed public developer API for the account-data functions an AI assistant would need. That could change, but until a provider documents one, it shouldn't be assumed or asserted.

This isn't unusual. Most brokerages, Stash included, were not built with AI agents as a client in mind. Their apps and sites are designed for a person tapping a screen, not a model making a structured call. That gap is exactly the problem Truthifi was built to close, not by waiting on Stash to ship a server, but by sitting between your real accounts and your AI assistant today.

How Truthifi Reaches Your Stash Account

Truthifi doesn't require Stash to publish anything. It connects to your Stash account the same way it connects to banks and other brokerages: through its aggregator partners, the same rails that power most of the account-linking you've already used elsewhere in fintech. You authorize the connection once, and Truthifi keeps a current read of your Stash balances, holdings, and transactions without Stash needing to build or maintain any AI-facing infrastructure at all.

How to Connect Stash Through Truthifi

  1. Create a free Truthifi account. Sign up and land on the dashboard where you'll link your accounts.

  2. Choose to add an account and search for Stash in the connection flow.

  3. Sign in to your Stash login with the aggregator, then click Authorize on the Truthifi consent screen. You enter your Stash credentials with the aggregator, not with Truthifi.

  4. Let Truthifi pull your data. Your Stash balances, holdings, and transaction history sync into your Truthifi profile.

  5. Connect your AI assistant to Truthifi. Once your assistant is linked, it can read your Stash data, and any other account you've connected, as part of your full financial picture.

  6. Ask your AI assistant real questions. With the connection live, your assistant can reason over actual positions instead of whatever you tell it by hand.

What You Can Ask Once It's Connected

This is the actual point of the exercise: once your AI assistant can read your real Stash account through Truthifi, you stop feeding it descriptions and start letting it look. A Stash investor who also holds funds in an old 401(k) or a separate brokerage account can finally ask the question that matters, not "what does Stash hold" in isolation, but how it all fits together. For example, you might ask:

  • "What positions do I currently hold in Stash?"

  • "Does anything in my Stash account overlap with funds I hold at my other brokerage?"

  • "How concentrated am I in any single sector across all my accounts, including Stash?"

  • "What's changed in my Stash holdings since last month?"

None of these are answerable from a screenshot, because a screenshot can't be cross-referenced against another account your AI also needs to see at the same time.

With and Without Truthifi

Without Truthifi, your AI assistant knows only what you type or paste. Ask it about overlap between your Stash holdings and an outside fund, and it has to take your word for both sides, or guess. There's no way for it to verify a position, catch a change, or reason across accounts it was never shown.

With Truthifi, your AI assistant reads your actual Stash balances, holdings, and transactions, kept current through the aggregator connection, alongside every other account you've linked. The question shifts from "what do I think I hold" to "what do I actually hold, across everything," which is the question an AI assistant is actually useful for answering.

How Truthifi Can Help

Stash is good at what it does: guided investing, automated contributions, a simple on-ramp into the market. Truthifi doesn't replace that. It's the layer that makes your Stash account, and every other account you hold, visible to the AI tools you already use, so your assistant can see real positions instead of your best guess at them. Read-only access to your bank and brokerage accounts means Truthifi can show your AI what's there without being able to move anything. One caveat worth repeating: Truthifi is not an investment adviser and doesn't give investment, tax or legal advice.

FAQ

Does Stash have an official MCP server? No. As of this writing, Stash has not published an official MCP server, so no AI assistant can connect to it directly through that protocol.

Is there a public Stash API my AI assistant could use instead? There is no confirmed public developer API for Stash account data suitable for this purpose. Until one is documented, it shouldn't be assumed to exist.

How does Truthifi get my Stash data without an official Stash MCP? Truthifi connects through its aggregator partners, the same account-linking infrastructure used across much of fintech, rather than waiting on Stash to build AI-specific access.

Can my AI assistant see my Stash holdings alongside accounts at other brokerages? Yes. Once your Stash account and your other accounts are connected through Truthifi, your AI assistant can reason across all of them together, including overlap between funds held in different places.

Does connecting Stash through Truthifi give Truthifi my Stash login? Your Stash credentials are entered with the aggregator, not with Truthifi. Truthifi never receives, sees, or stores your bank or brokerage username or password.

Will my AI assistant be able to place trades in my Stash account? No. Access to your bank and brokerage accounts through Truthifi is read-only, so your AI assistant can see your Stash data but cannot move money or place trades.
