If you trade options or futures on tastytrade and you've started asking an AI assistant to help you think through your portfolio, you've probably hit the same wall: your assistant can't see your actual positions. It can talk about strategy in the abstract, or it can work from whatever you paste in or screenshot. But it has no live view of what you're actually holding, what it's worth today, or how it fits with money you keep elsewhere. There is no official tastytrade MCP server as of this writing, so there's no direct plug for an AI tool to connect to tastytrade on its own. The practical path is to connect your tastytrade account to Truthifi, which brings your tastytrade balances, holdings, and transactions into one place an AI assistant can actually read.

What tastytrade does

Tastytrade is a brokerage built around active trading, particularly options and futures. It's where many self-directed traders custody and execute positions, which makes it one of several places real money and real risk live alongside a bank account, a 401(k), or holdings at another brokerage. An AI assistant that only sees one of those pieces is working with a partial picture.

Does tastytrade have an MCP server or API?

As of this writing, tastytrade has no official MCP server. There is no sanctioned "tastytrade MCP" that an AI assistant or developer tool can connect to directly. Should that status change, this page will be revised to say so. Until then, the way to get tastytrade data into an AI assistant is not through tastytrade directly, but through an account-aggregation layer that already has a secure connection to tastytrade — which is where Truthifi comes in.

How to connect your tastytrade account so your AI can see it

  1. Create a free Truthifi account. This is the layer that will sit between your tastytrade account and your AI assistant.

  2. Link your tastytrade account. Truthifi reaches tastytrade through its aggregator partners, the same way it connects banks and other brokerages, rather than through a direct tastytrade MCP (because none exists yet).

  3. Authorize the connection. You'll sign in through the aggregator's own secure screen and confirm the connection with the Authorize button. Your tastytrade login is never entered into Truthifi itself.

  4. Let Truthifi pull in your positions. Balances, holdings, and transaction history sync in so they're ready to query.

  5. Connect your AI assistant to Truthifi. Once linked, your assistant can read your tastytrade data as part of your full financial picture, not as an isolated file.

  6. Ask your AI assistant about your real accounts. From here, your questions are answered against what's actually in your accounts, not a paraphrase of a screenshot.

What you can ask once it's connected

Once your tastytrade account is linked through Truthifi, you can ask your AI assistant things like:

  • "What are my current open positions on tastytrade, and what's their total value?"

  • "Do any of my tastytrade holdings overlap with funds I hold at another brokerage?"

  • "How concentrated is my tastytrade account compared to the rest of my portfolio?"

  • "What did my tastytrade account gain or lose this month, across every position?"

These are questions an AI assistant can only answer well with live, structured account data behind it, not a memory of a number you typed in once.

With and without Truthifi

Without Truthifi: your AI assistant only knows what you tell it. If you paste in a screenshot or type out a position by hand, it's static the moment you send it, and it says nothing about anywhere else you hold money. Ask it whether your tastytrade options exposure overlaps with a fund you hold at a different broker, and it has no way to check.

With Truthifi: your tastytrade account is linked alongside your bank, your other brokerage accounts, and anything else you connect. Your AI assistant can reason across all of it together, catching overlap, concentration, or drift that's invisible when each account lives in its own app.

How Truthifi can help

Truthifi doesn't replace tastytrade. Tastytrade is still where your trades execute and your positions live. Truthifi is the layer that makes those positions — and everything else in your financial life — visible to an AI assistant in one place, read-only, without you manually re-entering anything. Because Truthifi connects to banks and brokerages through its aggregator partners, your tastytrade account shows up alongside accounts elsewhere, so questions about overlap, exposure, and total performance have a real answer instead of a guess. It's worth remembering, too, that Truthifi is not an investment adviser and doesn't give investment, tax or legal advice.

FAQ

Does tastytrade have its own MCP server? No. As of this writing, there is no official tastytrade MCP server. We'll revise this page if that status ever changes.

Does tastytrade have a public API? This page does not assert a tastytrade developer API one way or the other. If you're looking for programmatic access directly from tastytrade, check tastytrade's own developer resources for the current status.

How does Truthifi get my tastytrade data without an MCP server? Truthifi connects to tastytrade through its aggregator partners, the same mechanism it uses to connect banks and other brokerages. Your tastytrade login is handled by the aggregator, not by Truthifi.

Is my tastytrade login shared with Truthifi? No. You authorize the connection through the aggregator's own secure sign-in. Truthifi never sees or stores your tastytrade username or password.

What can my AI assistant actually do with my tastytrade data once it's connected? It can read your balances, holdings, and transaction history, and reason about them alongside any other accounts you connect, for example checking whether a tastytrade position overlaps with a fund you hold elsewhere.

Is this read-only? Yes. Read-only applies to your bank and brokerage accounts, including tastytrade.
