How to connect Meta Muse to your Fidelity account using Truthifi

To connect Meta Muse to Fidelity: link your Fidelity accounts in Truthifi, ask Muse to connect, sign in on Truthifi's page, click Authorize, then ask a balance question. This guide is for people with two kinds of Fidelity account: a workplace plan your employer chose and a brokerage account or IRA you opened yourself. Link both in Truthifi and Muse can treat them as one portfolio. Below, you'll see how to link Meta Muse with Fidelity and get answers about both in one place. Meta Muse, Meta's personal AI agent, can't see either account on its own. Fidelity also keeps the two apart: the workplace plan is reached through its NetBenefits site, separately from the account you opened yourself. Without a link, most questions that span both start with copying numbers from two places into a chat.

We close that gap by bringing your linked accounts into one view and checking them for fees, concentration and other issues. Muse reads that view once you connect it. Meta Muse portfolio questions that span the workplace plan and the brokerage account then get one answer instead of two.

Expect facts, not advice. We report what you hold and how it changed. What you do about it stays your call.

The short version: link your Fidelity accounts in Truthifi, ask Muse to connect, then sign in on Truthifi's page, click Authorize, and ask a balance question.

Our recommendation: link the 401(k) and the brokerage account or IRA before you connect Muse, rather than adding one later. A combined question asked with only one account linked returns a half answer that can look complete.

How we checked this: Truthifi tested its connection with Muse before publishing. Muse details come from Meta's announcement, Introducing Muse (2026), and from Meta's Connectors and subscriptions help pages. Where our test didn't record a detail, this guide says so.

What you'll need to connect Meta Muse to your Fidelity account

You need four things: Muse, a Truthifi account on any current consumer plan, your Fidelity accounts linked in Truthifi, and a login that's yours alone. None of them needs a paid plan to get started. Your plan only matters for a couple of the questions further down, and those are marked.

  1. Muse, where available (US rollout). According to Meta's announcement, Introducing Muse (2026), Muse is rolling out in the United States on iOS, Android and muse.ai. Availability may vary while the rollout continues. It's free with a usage limit, and paid plans add more weekly usage, according to Meta's subscriptions help (2026).

  2. A Truthifi account. You can connect your own AI assistant on any current consumer plan, free ones included, so you can start free (limits apply).

  3. Your Fidelity accounts linked in Truthifi. You can link Fidelity and thousands of other financial institutions to Truthifi through Plaid, Yodlee and By All Accounts. It's worth checking your bank or broker's status at truthifi.com/connections before you link it. Fidelity has its own status page.

  4. A login that belongs to you alone. One Truthifi login per person. Each person needs their own Truthifi login, even within a family or firm.

Before you start

Once those pieces are in place, two things decide what a question costs: your Truthifi plan, which sets the tools Muse can call, and your credits, which every call draws on. According to Truthifi's pricing page (2026), most tools cost 1 credit per call and a holdings lookup costs 2. Each on-demand refresh uses 3 credits, while the automatic daily refresh is free. These rates can change, so check that page before a long session. Credits reset every day and every month.

Two kinds of question need more than a free plan. Single-stock exposure, including what you hold through funds, needs Connect Pro or higher, or Monitoring, and fee analysis in your own AI assistant needs Connect Max, Monitoring or Monitoring Plus+.

How to connect Meta Muse to your Fidelity account

You ask in plain words and Muse builds the connection itself. Meta's help pages don't describe a form for adding a server. Instead, according to Meta's Connectors help (2026), you can ask Muse to create a custom connector for a service that isn't in its list. Steps 3 to 5 below repeat the flow Truthifi used when it tested its connection with Muse. That test didn't record every screen, such as where the sign-in appeared or whether Muse asked for a key. Where a screen may differ for you, the step says what to look for rather than what to click.

Step 1: Open a Truthifi account

Choose any current consumer plan. The free plans support your own AI assistant as well. You'll use this account's login, and only this login, when Truthifi's sign-in appears.

Step 2: Link your Fidelity accounts on Truthifi's page

Check Fidelity's status at truthifi.com/connections first. You sign in to your bank or broker through our connection partner (Plaid, Yodlee or By All Accounts), not through Truthifi or your AI assistant. Truthifi never sees or stores your bank username or password.

Step 3: Ask Muse to connect to Truthifi

In Muse, type the request Truthifi used in its test: "Please connect to my Truthifi account via Truthifi MCP." If Muse can't find Truthifi from that sentence alone, add the server address: "…using Truthifi's MCP server at https://api.truthifi.com/mcp."

Step 4: Sign in on Truthifi's page and click Authorize

When a Truthifi sign-in appears, use only Truthifi's own sign-in page and never type your Truthifi password into the Muse chat. If an Authorize screen appears, check what it says before you confirm. Click Authorize to connect, or Cancel to stop.

Step 5: Run a first check

Ask "Using Truthifi, list my Fidelity accounts and their balances." Your linked accounts should come back in the first answer. If one is missing, link it before you ask anything that combines them.

Example prompts for Meta Muse

These prompts ask for facts about your own accounts, grouped by what you want to know. Begin each one with "Using Truthifi" so Muse knows where to look. Every prompt here runs on the free plans except single-company exposure, and holdings questions cost 2 credits each.

Balances and holdings

Start with the plain numbers. Muse can set the two accounts side by side and then show what's inside each, per account, either for a day you pick or as of each account's latest update.

  • "Using Truthifi, what's the balance of my Fidelity 401(k) next to my Fidelity brokerage account?"

  • "Using Truthifi, which funds sit in my 401(k), and which positions are in my brokerage account?"

  • "Using Truthifi, what are my five biggest positions today?"

Mix and activity

Next comes structure and movement: how each account is built, and what's changed inside it. Many Truthifi tools let Muse limit a question to chosen accounts, and Truthifi totals buys, sells, dividends and other investment activity by period, so these answers arrive already grouped.

  • "Using Truthifi, how do my workplace plan and my brokerage account each split by asset class?"

  • "Using Truthifi, how has each Fidelity account's balance changed since January 1?"

  • "Using Truthifi, what did I buy and sell across my Fidelity accounts each quarter this year?"

Exposure and history

Two questions go deeper. Single-company exposure counts what you hold through funds as well as directly, which is why it needs one of the plans named under Before you start. The history question is worth asking before any long comparison, because it shows how far back each account's data goes.

  • "Using Truthifi, which single companies am I exposed to through my 401(k) funds and my brokerage holdings combined?"

  • "Using Truthifi, from what date does the history for each of my Fidelity accounts start?"

Why Truthifi?

With a 401(k) and a brokerage account at the same firm, your Fidelity data makes three stops at Truthifi before Muse sees it: your login stays out of the chat, the two accounts merge into one view, and the numbers get cleaned. After that, Muse handles the data under Meta's own terms. We cover each below, in that order.

Read-only at your bank and broker

Truthifi connects to your bank and brokerage accounts read-only. Your AI assistant can't move money, place trades or change anything there. Inside Truthifi, a few tools can make changes: they add or delete assets you track by hand, or refresh your data on demand.

Credentials and sign-in

You enter your Fidelity login on the connection partner's page, not in Muse, so your assistant doesn't see your Fidelity username or password. You can revoke it any time under Connections → Agents → ⋯ → Revoke. Your data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. To understand more about how linking works, see Is it safe to connect your accounts?

One view across accounts

A 401(k) and a brokerage account show up side by side. You can see how your money splits by asset class, sector, industry and country, and on Connect Pro or higher, or Monitoring, your exposure to single stocks, including what you hold through funds.

Here's the overlap a split view hides. A 401(k) menu typically offers a short list of plan-chosen funds, often broad index or target-date funds, while a brokerage account can hold individual stocks. If your largest brokerage positions are also big holdings inside your plan's index fund, you may own the same companies twice. Neither account's statement shows that on its own, which is why the combined single-company prompt is the clearest test of whether this setup is earning its place.

Data quality

Your history comes from the transactions your bank or broker makes available, so how far back it goes depends on the institution. Beyond history, we clean and organize the data ourselves, for example labelling reinvested dividends correctly and matching the same security across accounts. We think that matters most when the same fund sits in both a workplace plan and a personal account.

About Fidelity

According to Fidelity's company page, Fidelity was founded in 1946 and is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. That matters here because Fidelity runs both sides of this guide's setup: the workplace plans employers sponsor and the personal accounts you open yourself. Its account types include brokerage accounts, 401(k) retirement accounts, Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs), 529 college savings plans, mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and donor-advised funds.

Employer-sponsored accounts such as 401(k), 403(b) and 457 plans, along with health plans and pensions, are reached through Fidelity's NetBenefits site. Before you link anything, review Fidelity's connection status on Truthifi.

Once your Fidelity accounts connect, the basic flow is simple: they feed Truthifi, Truthifi answers Muse, and you can cut either link from your own settings. Start with the balances question in step 5. Once both accounts come back, the rest of the prompts on this page work from the same numbers. Then, if your plan includes it, run the combined single-company prompt: it's the one question on this page that neither Fidelity statement answers on its own.

That overlap can move without you trading anything. If your employer swaps a fund on the plan menu, the companies you hold twice may change too, so the combined prompt is worth rerunning after any plan menu notice.

Frequently asked questions

How do I connect Meta Muse to Fidelity?

Check Fidelity's status at truthifi.com/connections, then link your Fidelity accounts on Truthifi's page. Ask Muse to connect your Fidelity-linked Truthifi account, then sign in on Truthifi's own page and click Authorize. Your 401(k) and your brokerage account or IRA can be linked the same way, one after the other.

What does a Meta Muse Fidelity connection cover?

Every Fidelity account you link in Truthifi, typically a workplace 401(k) plus a brokerage account or IRA. Muse compares balances, lists holdings per account, shows the asset mix, and totals buys, sells and dividends by period. Single-company exposure through funds needs the same plans (see above).

Can Meta Muse portfolio questions cover my 401(k) and IRA together?

Yes, once both are linked. Muse starts with every account you've linked, so a question about your asset mix or your largest positions covers the workplace plan and the account you opened yourself. To keep one out, go to Settings → Sharing and choose the accounts Muse can see.

Is it safe to connect my Fidelity accounts to Meta Muse through Truthifi?

We link your bank and brokerage accounts read-only. Muse can look, but it can't move money, place trades or change anything there. Inside Truthifi, the only changes happen to assets you track by hand or when you ask for a refresh. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and you can revoke access any time under Connections → Agents → ⋯ → Revoke.

How do I limit which Fidelity accounts Muse can see?

By default, your AI assistant can see all the accounts you've linked in Truthifi. To limit which accounts an assistant sees, select it under Settings → Sharing. For example, you could share your Fidelity brokerage account with Muse and leave your 401(k) unselected.

Will Muse ask for my Fidelity password?

It shouldn't, and you shouldn't offer it. Bank and brokerage accounts get linked on Truthifi's own page, not inside the chat. Truthifi doesn't ask for your bank password inside your assistant, so don't type it there. Your AI assistant gets a sign-in token from Truthifi, not your password.

Can Muse change my 401(k) contributions or trade in my Fidelity account?

No. Muse reads through Truthifi and can't act at Fidelity. Contribution changes, trades and transfers all stay with you and Fidelity. The only changes Truthifi's tools make are inside Truthifi itself: assets you track by hand, and refreshing your data on demand.

My spouse has a Fidelity 401(k) too. Can I add it to my Truthifi account?

Keep it on a separate login. Each login is for one person, not for family members or colleagues at your firm. Your spouse can open a Truthifi account of their own, link their own 401(k) there and connect their own assistant to it.

Which Truthifi plan covers these Fidelity questions?

Connecting your own AI assistant works on every current consumer plan, including the free ones, and most prompts on this page run on them. Single-stock exposure through funds needs those same plans (see above). For fee analysis, you need Connect Max, Monitoring or Monitoring Plus+.

How fresh is the Fidelity data Muse reads?

Truthifi refreshes your data automatically once a day, when the connection to your bank or broker is working, and those automatic refreshes don't use your AI assistant credits. You can also ask for a refresh, which uses 3 credits and won't run while your bank's data connection is down.

How do I disconnect Meta Muse from Truthifi?

To disconnect an AI assistant, go to Connections → Agents → ⋯ → Revoke. On the Muse side, Meta's help points to Settings → Connectors to disconnect a connector. If you don't see Truthifi there, revoke it in Truthifi. Revoking stops new data, but it doesn't delete what the assistant already received.

What happens to my Muse chats after I disconnect?

That's governed by Muse and the settings you've chosen there. According to Meta, information Muse already used may stay in its memories and conversation history until you ask it to forget, and you can opt out of training use. Ask Muse to forget Fidelity details you don't want kept, and if you reconnect, share only the accounts you need under Settings → Sharing.

Is this AI portfolio analysis?

Not in the advice sense. Truthifi is not an investment adviser and doesn't give investment, tax or legal advice, and what it supplies instead is facts about your own accounts, such as balances, holdings and activity. Every decision about your 401(k) and brokerage account remains yours, or yours and your advisor's.

What is Truthifi?

Every account you link lands in one Truthifi view, where it's checked for fees, concentration and other issues. Truthifi Connect is the MCP-first membership: you connect accounts in Truthifi and ask questions in your own AI assistant. No commissions, no ads, no advice.

Who can see my Fidelity data once Muse is connected?

Truthifi's tools work only with the signed-in person's own Truthifi data. The data Truthifi's tools return goes to the AI company behind your assistant, which handles it under its own terms. With Muse, that company is Meta, so share only the accounts you need.

How to connect Meta Muse to your Fidelity account using Truthifi

About the Truthifi Editorial Team

The editorial team is the same Truthifi Team named in the byline, and this note records what it changed. For the October 5, 2026 update, the plan names, credit costs and sharing steps on this page were re-checked against Truthifi's published product facts. Muse is still rolling out, so Steps 3 and 4 are the likeliest to drift: if the sign-in or Authorize screen you see doesn't match them, those are the first steps we'll revisit.
