How to connect Meta Muse to your Schwab account using Truthifi

How we checked this: Truthifi has tested its connection with Muse, and the Muse details come from Meta's own announcement and help pages, linked below. The Schwab details come from public sources and are marked as such.

The short version: link your Schwab brokerage and bank accounts in Truthifi, ask Muse to connect, sign in on Truthifi's page, and click Authorize. After that, Muse reads real Schwab data instead of numbers you type in by hand, and answers questions about trades, cash and spending across both account types in one place. It can't move money or place a trade, because Truthifi's access to your Schwab accounts is read-only.
Trade and bank at Schwab? This guide is built for you. For anyone who already keeps both checking and brokerage money at Schwab, this combined setup is worth the few minutes it takes to connect. Our recommendation: link checking and savings alongside the brokerage account, not the brokerage account alone. That's because cash moves between a brokerage account, where buying and selling happens, and checking or savings, where it sits until the next trade or bill. Connect Meta Muse to your bank account as well as your brokerage account, and a question such as "how did last month's purchases compare with what left checking?" gets answered from both sides at once. That combined question is what this guide is built around.
Sign up for Truthifi. Any current consumer plan works, the free ones included. If you trade often, compare the daily credit allowances in the table below before you choose.
Link Schwab inside Truthifi. Link your Schwab brokerage and bank accounts on Truthifi's page. That page is the only place your Schwab password belongs, so keep it out of every chat.
Ask Muse to connect to Truthifi. Type "Please connect to my Truthifi account via Truthifi MCP." That's the request Truthifi used in its own test. If Muse can't find Truthifi, however, add "…using Truthifi's MCP server at https://api.truthifi.com/mcp." to the same request.
Approve on Truthifi, not in Muse. When Truthifi's sign-in appears, sign in on Truthifi's own page and click Authorize. Your Truthifi password never goes into the Muse chat.
Confirm it works. Ask "Using Truthifi, which accounts can you see, and what is the balance of each?" If your Schwab accounts come back, you're connected. Muse may pause a task to ask for your approval, so approve only what you meant. Separately, Meta says its Sentinel agent reviews any Muse action that reaches the internet.
What you'll need to connect Meta Muse to your Schwab account
You need four things: Muse itself, a Truthifi account on any current consumer plan, your Schwab accounts linked inside Truthifi and a Truthifi login that belongs to you alone. According to Meta's announcement, Muse is rolling out in the United States. The free Truthifi plans count, and none of these four requirements costs anything to start.
Muse, where it's available (US rollout). Muse runs on iOS, Android and muse.ai, and it's still in limited testing. According to Meta's subscription help, it's free with a usage limit, and paid plans add more weekly usage.
A Truthifi plan. Every current consumer plan, free ones included, lets you connect your own AI assistant. Start free (limits apply).
Schwab linked in Truthifi. Per Truthifi platform data, Truthifi connects to 18,000+ financial institutions through Plaid, Yodlee and By All Accounts. Look up Schwab's status at truthifi.com/connections before you link it. Schwab has its own status page.
Your own login. One Truthifi login per person. Keep your Truthifi login to yourself: family members and colleagues should each have their own.
Before you start
You can burn through credits fast if you ask Meta Muse a lot of brokerage questions about an active Schwab account. Most calls cost 1 credit, while a holdings lookup for a chosen date costs 2. An on-demand refresh uses 3 credits; automatic daily refreshes are free. On a free plan, 5 credits go quickly: one holdings call and one refresh use a full day.
As of October 2026, according to Truthifi's plan data, here's what you get at Schwab with Truthifi:
Plan | AI assistant credits (day / month) | What Muse can ask about |
|---|---|---|
Free Checkup, Connect Explore | 5 / 25 | Accounts, balances, holdings, composition, transactions and spending summaries |
Connect Pro | 20 / 75 | Adds performance, advisors, stock concentrations, market-cap mix, security news and Score history |
Monitoring | 25 / 150 | Connect Pro tools plus fee analysis |
Connect Max | 75 / 400 | Connect Pro tools plus fee analysis |
Monitoring Plus+ | 75 / 500 | Connect Pro tools plus fee analysis |
The plans come from two memberships, Connect and Monitoring, so the table is sorted by daily allowance rather than by membership. That's why Monitoring, at 25 a day and 150 a month, sits between Connect Pro and Connect Max.
For an active trader, the monthly cap usually runs out before the daily one. At 5 credits a day, five full days use the whole 25-credit month. On Connect Pro, four full days at 20 would pass the 75-credit month, while Monitoring's 150 covers six full days at 25. Our take: if you ask Muse questions most days, compare the monthly figure first.
Every assistant you connect draws on the same allowance. To see what's left, ask Muse "what plan am I on?" That question costs nothing.

How to connect Meta Muse to your Schwab account
You'll connect in five steps: create a Truthifi account, link Schwab on Truthifi's page, ask Muse to connect, sign in on Truthifi's page and click Authorize, then ask a balance question. Muse has no documented screen for adding a server by its address, so typing the request is what gets you connected.
Step 1: Sign up for Truthifi
Any current consumer plan works, the free ones included. If you trade often, compare the daily credit allowances in the table above before you choose.
Step 2: Link Schwab inside Truthifi
Link your Schwab brokerage and bank accounts on Truthifi's page. That page is the only place your Schwab password belongs, so keep it out of every chat.
Step 3: Ask Muse to connect to Truthifi
Type "Please connect to my Truthifi account via Truthifi MCP." That's the request Truthifi used in its own test. If Muse can't find Truthifi, however, add "…using Truthifi's MCP server at https://api.truthifi.com/mcp." to the same request.
Step 4: Approve on Truthifi, not in Muse
When Truthifi's sign-in appears, sign in on Truthifi's own page and click Authorize. Your Truthifi password never goes into the Muse chat.
Step 5: Confirm it works
Ask "Using Truthifi, which accounts can you see, and what is the balance of each?" If your Schwab accounts come back, you're connected. Muse may pause a task to ask for your approval, so approve only what you meant. Separately, according to Meta, its Sentinel agent reviews any Muse action that reaches the internet.
Example Meta Muse portfolio prompts
Ask for a number or a list you could check against a statement. Skip requests for a recommendation; Muse works best on figures you can verify. The eight below start with "Using Truthifi" so Muse draws on your linked data. Six work on every current consumer plan, and two need Connect Pro or higher, or Monitoring (see the plans above).
Checking, savings and brokerage cash together
"Using Truthifi, how much is in my Schwab checking and savings right now, next to the cash in my brokerage account?"
Because we link checking and savings next to the brokerage account, we answer this with a single balance call: 1 credit, on any plan.
Monthly trading totals
"Using Truthifi, what did my buys and sells at Schwab add up to in each month this year?"
For this one, we already total your buys, sells, dividends and other investment activity by period, so the months come back grouped.
Checking outflows by category
"Using Truthifi, what went out of my Schwab checking account last quarter, by category?"
Here too, we summarize spending and income by period and category, on every plan.
Income and gain or loss
"Using Truthifi, what's my income and gain or loss in my Schwab brokerage account since January?"
This one needs the plans noted above.
News on your stocks
"Using Truthifi, is there recent news on the individual stocks I hold at Schwab?"
As with the prompt above, news works by stock ticker, not for funds, and it also needs those same plans.
Month-end positions
"Using Truthifi, what did my Schwab brokerage account hold at the end of last month?"
For this question, a holdings lookup for a chosen day costs 2 credits, so ask once and keep the answer.
Larger transactions
"Using Truthifi, list my transactions over $200 last month."
Here, we return transactions a page at a time, and asking for more than 90 days of history gets you only the most recent 90.
A new account
"Connect my new brokerage account to Truthifi."
For this request, Muse replies with a link to Truthifi's page for adding a bank or brokerage account. Nothing changes until you use it, and the request is free.
Why Truthifi?
Why connect Muse to Schwab through Truthifi instead of typing numbers into a chat by hand? Truthifi gives Muse one cleaned, consistent view of the Schwab accounts you link, refreshed automatically each day or on demand for 3 credits. At your bank and broker, Truthifi's access is read-only, so Muse can answer questions about trades and cash without moving money or placing a trade, and without you copying figures by hand.
Read-only at Schwab
Truthifi's access to your bank and brokerage accounts is read-only. Your assistant has no way to move money, place trades or change anything in those accounts. Inside Truthifi, three tools do change data: adding or deleting assets you track by hand, and refreshing your data on demand. None of them reaches your Schwab accounts.
Credentials stay out of the chat
Truthifi encrypts your data in transit and at rest. Muse gets a sign-in token from Truthifi, never your password, and you can revoke that token any time under Connections → Agents → ⋯ → Revoke. For how Truthifi's connection partners handle your bank sign-in, see Is it safe to connect your accounts?
Trading and banking in one view
Once linked, your accounts sit in one Truthifi view that's checked for fees, concentration and other issues. That's what lets Muse set a month of Schwab trades beside a month of Schwab checking activity, or show how your money splits by asset class, sector, industry and country.
Data quality
We clean and organize your Schwab data. We label reinvested dividends correctly and match the same security across accounts, so Muse works from consistent numbers. Beyond data quality, how far back your history goes depends on what each institution makes available.

About Schwab
Schwab offers brokerage and banking under one roof. Its account types include a brokerage account, the Schwab Global Account, bank checking and savings accounts, and a Pledged Asset Line of credit. Schwab is headquartered in Westlake, Texas, and was founded in 1971, according to public sources Truthifi checked in March 2026 for its connect guides.
That mix is why this guide pairs trading questions with cash questions. Before linking, check Schwab's connection status on Truthifi. If you hold a Schwab Global Account, check how it appears there before relying on it in a question. For the full product details, see Schwab's own website.
Frequently asked questions
Can Muse see my Schwab checking account and my brokerage account in one answer?
Yes. Link both your Schwab checking and brokerage accounts in Truthifi, and Muse draws on both at once in a single question, such as how last month's spending compared with what left checking. Truthifi pulls your linked accounts into a single view and checks them for fees, concentration and other issues, so Muse answers from one consistent picture. To narrow what Muse sees, go to Settings → Sharing in Truthifi and select the assistant.
Can a Meta Muse Schwab connection place a trade or move cash?
No. A Meta Muse Schwab connection can't place a trade or move cash, because Truthifi's access to your bank and brokerage accounts is read-only. Through Truthifi, Muse can't move money, place trades or change anything at Schwab.
How far back can Muse look at my Schwab transactions?
How far back Muse can look depends on what Schwab makes available to Truthifi, and that window varies by account. Within that window, transactions come back a page at a time, and a request covering more than 90 days returns only the most recent 90.
Will an active trader run out of Truthifi credits?
That depends on your plan: Free Checkup and Connect Explore give 5 credits a day and 25 a month, while Connect Max and Monitoring Plus+ give 75 a day. Most Muse questions cost 1 credit, a dated holdings lookup 2 and an on-demand refresh 3, and every assistant you connect shares the same allowance, resetting every day and every month.
Does Muse see a Schwab trade the moment it happens?
Not instantly. We refresh your Schwab data automatically once a day, as long as the connection is working. A trade placed this morning won't show in Muse until that next refresh. You can also ask Muse to refresh on demand, which uses 3 credits and won't run while the connection is down. The next refresh is what brings a same-day trade into view.
Does Muse get my Schwab login or my Truthifi password?
No, Muse gets neither one. You sign in to Schwab through Truthifi's connection partner (Plaid, Yodlee or By All Accounts), not through Truthifi or Muse, and Truthifi doesn't see or store your bank username or password. Muse only gets a sign-in token from Truthifi, never your password, and you can revoke that token whenever you like.
How do I disconnect Muse from my Schwab data?
On Truthifi's side, the path is Connections → Agents → ⋯ → Revoke, then confirm. That cuts Muse off from your Schwab data even if Muse still lists Truthifi. Meta's help says Muse connectors are disconnected under Settings → Connectors, but if Truthifi doesn't appear there, the revoke in Truthifi is enough on its own.
What happens to my Muse conversations about Schwab after I disconnect?
Revoking cuts off new data from Truthifi. It doesn't delete what Muse already received. According to Meta, Muse may keep information it already used in its memories and conversation history until you ask it to forget those interactions, and Meta says you can opt out of training use in Muse's settings.
Which Meta Muse brokerage prompts need a paid Truthifi plan?
Two of the eight: performance history and security news need Connect Pro or higher, or Monitoring. The other six, covering balances, holdings, transactions, spending summaries and links for new accounts, run on any current consumer plan, the free ones included. If those two answers matter to you, Connect Pro is the first Connect plan that adds them.
Has Meta approved Truthifi as a Muse connector?
No, Meta hasn't approved Truthifi as a reviewed Muse connector. Instead, you ask Muse to create Truthifi as a custom connector, and Meta says it doesn't review custom connectors or how they use your information. Before you click Authorize, read the Truthifi screen, since it lists what the assistant can read and the two kinds of change it allows.
Is Muse available outside the US?
Meta is rolling Muse out in the United States, and it's in limited testing, so it isn't available in all locations. If you can't use Muse, the built-in Truthifi AI agent is included in Monitoring and Monitoring Plus+, and Truthifi also works with other AI assistants on every current consumer plan.
Can I connect Meta Muse to Schwab on a free Truthifi plan?
Yes, you can connect Meta Muse to Schwab on a free Truthifi plan. Connecting your own AI assistant works on every current consumer plan, including Free Checkup and Connect Explore, so there's no cost to Truthifi for the connection itself. On the free plans, Muse gets 5 credits a day, enough for a handful of balance, transaction or spending questions.
What is Truthifi?
Truthifi Connect is the MCP-first membership: you connect accounts in Truthifi and ask questions in your own AI assistant, such as Muse. Once linked, your accounts sit in one Truthifi view that's checked for fees, concentration and other issues.
