Short answer: there is no official Wave MCP server as of this writing, and Wave is not a provider Truthifi connects to directly. If you want an AI assistant that can actually reason about your money, the practical path is to link your underlying bank, brokerage and card accounts to Truthifi directly — not through Wave — since Truthifi doesn't connect to Wave itself. That gives your assistant a live, year-round view of the accounts Wave reports on, instead of a static export you remember to pull once a year.
What Wave does
Wave is accounting and invoicing software built for freelancers and small businesses. It handles bookkeeping, invoicing, and basic financial reporting from transactions you connect or enter. Wave is not a bank or a brokerage. It doesn't custody money, hold your investments, or move funds on its own — it's a record-keeping and reporting layer on top of the accounts you already have elsewhere.
That distinction matters for what an AI assistant can and can't do with it. Wave organizes your bookkeeping data; it does not give an AI assistant access to your actual bank, brokerage, or card balances unless those accounts are separately connected somewhere that an assistant can read.
Does Wave have an MCP server or API?
There is no official Wave MCP server as of this writing. We did not find a public developer API from Wave that we can responsibly describe here, so none is listed — if you've found one, treat any third-party claims about it with caution until Wave documents it directly.
In practice, this means an AI assistant can't connect to Wave on its own today and start reading your invoices or bookkeeping data through a standard, provider-published integration. That's a gap in the tooling, not a reflection of Wave's quality as an accounting product.
How Truthifi fits in
Truthifi doesn't connect to Wave directly, and it wouldn't claim to. Wave isn't a bank, brokerage, or crypto exchange, so it isn't one of the account types Truthifi aggregates. Instead, Truthifi reads the underlying bank, brokerage, and card accounts you link to it — the same accounts that feed your Wave bookkeeping in the first place. Your AI assistant, connected through Truthifi, can then see and reason about the real balances, holdings and transactions in the accounts you've linked to Truthifi, even though it isn't reading Wave itself.
Setup steps
Create or sign in to your Truthifi account.
Connect the bank, brokerage, and card accounts you use day to day — the same accounts behind your Wave bookkeeping.
Confirm the accounts sync and review what Truthifi shows you about fees, exposure, and account detail.
Connect your AI assistant to Truthifi as an agent.
Authorize the agent using the Authorize button when prompted.
Ask your assistant a question about your accounts to confirm it can see your account data.
Revisit permissions anytime through Connections → Agents → ⋯ → Revoke if you want to change or remove access.
What you can ask
Once your accounts are connected through Truthifi, your AI assistant can work with the real numbers behind your bookkeeping year-round, not just at tax time. Example prompts:
"What's my total cash across all my linked accounts right now?"
"Has my spending in any account category jumped in the last month?"
"What fees am I paying across my investment accounts?"
"Summarize my account balances the way I'd want to see them before a planning call."
"Flag anything unusual in my accounts since my last check-in."
A Wave user who wants a year-round financial picture, not just a filing-season snapshot, gets that from the underlying accounts being readable continuously — which is what Truthifi is built to provide.
With & without Truthifi
Without Truthifi: your AI assistant has no standing connection to your bank, brokerage, or card accounts. Any insight it gives you about your finances depends on what you manually type in or paste, which means stale numbers and manual re-entry every time you want an answer.
With Truthifi: your AI assistant can read your connected bank, brokerage, and card accounts directly, with read-only access scoped to those account types. It can answer questions about balances, fees, and exposure using current data, without you re-explaining your financial picture every session.
Wave still does what it does well: bookkeeping, invoicing, and reporting for your business. Truthifi doesn't replace that. It fills the gap Wave was never built to fill — giving an AI assistant direct, read-only visibility into the real accounts your bookkeeping is tracking.
How Truthifi can help
Truthifi connects to your bank, brokerage, and crypto accounts and makes that data available to an AI assistant, with monitoring and diagnostic checks that go beyond what a bookkeeping tool reports. Truthifi is not an investment adviser and doesn't give investment, tax or legal advice. For Wave users specifically, the value is continuity: instead of reconstructing your financial picture by hand whenever you want an AI's take on it, you get a connection that stays current.
