Once your real accounts are connected, an AI assistant can answer from your actual accounts instead of generic financial information. By Truthifi's own count, it monitors $6B+ in assets across 18,000+ institutions.2 If ADP runs your payroll, your paycheck is one important data point, but it lives inside ADP's reporting, separate from the bank, brokerage, and retirement accounts that paycheck actually flows into. This guide shows how to give your AI assistant the whole picture, your pay, your savings, your investments, and your net worth, in one place it can reason about, instead of scattered across separate logins. Setup needs no code, and you can start on the free tier. Get started with Truthifi
Your ADP pay statement shows your gross pay and deductions to the penny, yet it can't tell you whether you're building wealth or whether your savings will get you to retirement. That answer lives scattered across separate logins you'd otherwise have to piece together by hand. Connect them, and your AI can finally see the whole arc.
What is an MCP?
MCP, short for Model Context Protocol, is an open standard your AI assistant uses to connect to outside data, with your permission, instead of you pasting numbers in by hand. Anthropic introduced MCP, and OpenAI and others have adopted it. Through Truthifi's MCP server, your assistant gets this connection to your bank, brokerage and card accounts, under your control.
Does ADP have an MCP server?
No. There's no official ADP MCP server as of October 6, 2026. A search of public code repositories we ran that day for ADP-related MCP projects, which isn't an exhaustive audit, turned up two ADP-adjacent projects. Both are built by third parties rather than ADP itself. Here's what they actually are and how each differs from an official server.
CDataSoftware/adp-mcp-server-by-cdata, a third-party, MCP bridge (read-only) built by CData that connects to ADP data via JDBC drivers. It's a developer tool (OAuth/JDBC credentials, config required) and is not affiliated with ADP.
agenticdataprotocol/adp-connectors, despite the name, this refers to "Agentic Data Protocol," not ADP the payroll company. It's unrelated.
For developers, ADP does offer the ADP Marketplace and the ADP API Gateway, with OAuth 2.0-secured REST APIs for HR, payroll, time, and benefits data. That's a builder's path, not a no-code one. To compare how other providers handle this, see the financial MCP servers hub.
A payroll-data connector, official or not, wouldn't change the core limit: ADP shows your pay on its own, which is what it's built to do. What turns a paycheck into a financial answer is seeing it next to where the money goes: your bank, your brokerage, your retirement accounts. That's a different layer, and it's where Truthifi comes in (below, or learn more).
What ADP does
ADP (Automatic Data Processing) is one of the largest payroll and human capital management (HCM) providers in the world.1 It's built to:
Process payroll for approximately one million businesses across about 140 countries, according to ADP, handling tax filing, direct deposit, and compliance.
Run HCM software covering HR, benefits administration, time and attendance, talent management, and workforce analytics.
Provide EOR and PEO services through ADP TotalSource for businesses that outsource employment administration.
Administer retirement plans and 401(k) services for small and mid-sized businesses.
Expose REST APIs via the ADP Marketplace and developer.adp.com for integrations.
Deliver workforce analytics through ADP DataCloud and the National Employment Report.
About ADP: founded in 1949 by Henry Taub, per ADP's own corporate pages1 · headquartered in Roseland, New Jersey · publicly traded (NASDAQ: ADP) · ~$19.2B in fiscal 2024 revenue, according to ADP's FY2024 Annual Report (investor.adp.com).
Good to know about ADP
Fast answers to the questions people bring up most often:2
What does it cost? ADP doesn't publish standard pricing publicly. Plans are quote-based and vary by product line: RUN for small business, Workforce Now for mid-market, Vantage HCM for enterprise. The quote depends on employee count, modules selected, and contract terms, so two businesses of similar size can see different numbers. Confirm current pricing directly with ADP. (adp.com)
Which product am I on? Small businesses typically use RUN Powered by ADP; mid-market companies use Workforce Now; enterprises use Vantage HCM. Each has its own interface and module set.
Can I get my data out? ADP offers REST APIs through the API Gateway and Marketplace for integrations, though that path is built for developers with OAuth and sandbox setup.
What about my paycheck, after it lands? ADP shows gross pay and deductions inside its own reporting. Once that money reaches your bank, brokerage, and retirement accounts, the fuller picture lives in those other accounts, and seeing it all together is its own job.
What about my investments and net worth? Your savings, retirement, and brokerage accounts live in different places than your ADP paycheck. Truthifi brings those connected accounts into one view alongside your income, anchored to your real pay, which is where an AI connector adds the most.
ADP API: getting your ADP data for AI
Does ADP have an API? Yes. ADP offers the ADP Marketplace and ADP API Gateway (developer.adp.com), providing OAuth 2.0-secured REST APIs for HR, payroll, time, and benefits data, but it is a developer API. Truthifi doesn't plug into that API or pull payroll records from ADP. Instead, Truthifi gives your AI assistant read-only access over MCP (the Model Context Protocol) to the bank, brokerage, and retirement accounts your ADP pay flows into. That's the practical "ADP API" for AI: no code, no ADP developer credentials, and Truthifi doesn't receive your bank login credentials. Through that connection, your assistant can look up balances, holdings and transactions across those accounts in one place, read-only by architecture. Connect your accounts to your AI →
How Truthifi can help
Truthifi links your real accounts to your AI assistant and brings your whole financial picture into one view your AI can reason about: your accounts across 18,000+ institutions, decoded into clean, consistent data, and from an independent source with no commissions, no ads, no advice. Along the way, Truthifi's Refinery corrects and reconciles what it reads, running roughly 6 billion data-quality operations in a recent 90-day window by its own count,2 so your AI works from verified numbers. Once that's set up, here's what you can ask:
"Right now, across everything I've linked, what's my net worth?"
"Am I building real wealth, and what's dragging on my returns?"
"Which of my holdings are costing me the most in fees?"
"Where is my money most concentrated, and should that worry me?"
Truthifi works on the receiving end of your ADP direct deposit, not inside ADP's payroll or HCM systems. It brings in the bank, brokerage, and retirement accounts your pay flows into, and decodes them alongside each other. From there it surfaces the net worth impact, the savings rate, and the cross-account context a payroll system isn't built to provide. You keep ADP for payroll; Truthifi gives your AI everything around it.
One detail is specific to ADP users. On your ADP pay statement, a 401(k) deferral shows up as a deduction, money leaving the paycheck. At your plan's recordkeeper, the same dollars show up as a contribution arriving. Those are two records of one transfer, and ADP's view ends at the first. So a raise appears in ADP as higher gross and net pay, but whether any of it became savings is visible mainly in the accounts the money reached. Link those accounts to Truthifi, and "did my last raise actually get saved?" becomes one question to your AI instead of an afternoon of cross-checking logins. A useful first check is the overlapping-holdings prompt below, since a 401(k) target-date fund and a taxable index fund can hold many of the same stocks.
With your pay context and your investments in front of your AI, the two work together. Real examples:
"My take-home pay is $X a month, given my spending and investments, what's my real savings rate?"
"My 401(k) contribution comes out of every ADP paycheck. Given my whole portfolio, am I on track to retire by 60?"
"If I raised my 401(k) contribution by 2% of pay, what would that do to my net worth over 10 years?"
Because Truthifi reads directly from your institutions, it normalizes and reconciles balances and transactions across your connected accounts, so your AI works from clean, consistent data, no manual entry to maintain.
Start free. Link your connected accounts and run a portfolio-analysis scan at no cost; connecting the AI assistant you already use is included on current consumer plans, including the free tier. The paid Monitoring plan ($8.99/mo or $79.99/yr as of October 2026) adds fee, performance, and concentration diagnostics.
With & Without Truthifi
A basic connector gets an account into your AI, which covers simple lookups like a single balance. Truthifi verifies and reconciles it across your connected accounts into one clean, consistent view. If one balance in chat is all you need, the first two rows may be enough.

Is it safe to connect my accounts to Truthifi?
The safeguards are structural, not just promises, and while no online connection is ever completely risk-free, these protections are built into how the connection works, covering how your credentials are handled, what access your assistant gets, and how you can revoke it:
Read-only by architecture. The accounts your ADP pay flows into can be read, but Truthifi can't move money, place trades, or change a setting there. That limit is built into the connection itself, not written only into a terms-of-service document.
Your bank credentials go to the aggregator, not Truthifi. Truthifi connects to your accounts through Plaid, Yodlee and Morningstar By All Accounts; you authorize these aggregators directly, so Truthifi doesn't receive your bank login credentials. Truthifi doesn't connect to ADP itself, so no payroll login is involved.
AI requests are logged. Daily and monthly, you can see per-tool counts of exactly what each AI accessed.
Data is bank-grade encrypted in transit and at rest, and access can be controlled per account and revoked at any time, either in your assistant's connector settings or inside Truthifi (Connections → Agents → Revoke).

Create a free Truthifi account. Create your account at truthifi.com; the free tier needs no credit card.
Link your accounts. Connect the bank where your pay lands, plus brokerage and retirement accounts, via Plaid, Yodlee, or Morningstar ByAllAccounts. Truthifi doesn't receive your bank login credentials.
Turn on MCP access. Connecting your own AI assistant via MCP works on current consumer plans, including the free tier.
Add Truthifi to your assistant. In your AI assistant's connector settings, add a custom connector with URL https://api.truthifi.com/mcp, and authorize.
Turn it on and ask. Switch Truthifi on, then ask: What's my net worth, and am I on track to retire?
How to connect your accounts to your AI assistant
You can do the setup in your browser, with no command line needed, on any assistant that supports MCP. It takes about five steps: create a free account, link your real accounts, turn on MCP access, add Truthifi as a connector in your assistant, then ask it a question about your finances.
Set up a free account at truthifi.com; the free tier needs no credit card.
Link your accounts: the bank where your ADP pay lands, plus brokerage and retirement accounts, through Truthifi's secure Plaid, Yodlee, or Morningstar ByAllAccounts connection.
Turn on MCP access: creating an account and running a portfolio-analysis scan is free; connecting your accounts to a live AI assistant (MCP) works on current consumer plans, including the free tier; the full diagnostic suite is part of the paid Monitoring plan ($8.99/mo or $79.99/yr as of October 2026).
Add Truthifi to your assistant. The connector URL is the same in each assistant: https://api.truthifi.com/mcp. Inside your assistant's connector settings (typically under Settings → Connectors), add a custom connector called Truthifi, paste in that URL, and authorize it. (Most assistants require a paid plan for custom connectors. Step-by-step setup instructions for your particular assistant are in the connect guides linked below.)
Turn it on and ask: "What's my net worth, and am I on track to retire?"
What you can ask your AI
For more prompt ideas, see how to ask your AI about your real investment accounts.
"What's my real savings rate, given my take-home pay and what I'm actually setting aside?"
"Today, what's my net worth across everything I've linked?"
"Am I on track to retire at my current savings rate? Model conservative, moderate, and optimistic cases."
"Total up the fund fees I'm paying across my connected accounts this year, and show the 10-year cost at 7% growth."
"Where am I most concentrated, by holding, sector, and single account, and is any of it a risk?"
"Stress-test my whole portfolio against a 2008-style drop: how far would I fall, and how long to recover?"
"If I increased my 401(k) contribution by 2% of pay, what's the effect on my net worth over 10 and 20 years?"
"Find any duplicate or overlapping holdings across my accounts that I didn't realize I had."
Common questions about ADP
Is ADP worth it? For an employer, it usually turns on tier fit: RUN for small business, Workforce Now for mid-market, Vantage HCM for enterprise, or TotalSource if you'd rather hand employment administration to a PEO. Because quotes depend on employee count, modules, and contract terms, compare a quote for the specific tier you'd use, and confirm directly with ADP. If your real question is "am I building wealth from what I earn," that's an investment-and-net-worth view, and adding Truthifi brings it into your AI alongside your income picture.
What do people say about ADP? We read reviews on G2, Capterra, BBB and Reddit on October 6, 2026. Recurring praise centered on ADP's breadth. A recurring complaint was that the mid-market interface feels complex. We didn't tally star ratings, so treat this as a qualitative read, not a score. Beyond payroll itself, many people want their AI to see what happens to their pay after it lands, which is what a connector like Truthifi adds.
Are there alternatives to ADP? Other payroll and HCM providers exist. If your employer uses Gusto, the Gusto MCP guide covers the same setup. If what you actually want is an AI that sees your whole financial life, income context and investments, that's a different tool: a connector like Truthifi sitting on top of the accounts you already have, alongside whatever payroll system your employer uses.
Why is it hard to get my data out of ADP? ADP exposes data through developer-oriented REST APIs and the Marketplace, which involve OAuth and sandbox setup. For a no-code view of your own financial accounts, the ones your pay flows into, Truthifi reads directly from your institutions, no developer setup required.
Do I need to write code to set up Truthifi? No. Truthifi setup runs in your browser, no command line, API keys, or config files.
Which AI assistants does Truthifi work with? Assistants that support MCP. MCP is an open standard introduced by Anthropic and adopted by OpenAI and others, so a growing range of AI assistants can use the same Truthifi connector URL.
Truthifi and your accounts beyond ADP
ADP is the system of record for what you earned and what was withheld, and its reports are precise about both. By design, that view covers one slice of your financial life, while the rest of your household, from held-away retirement accounts to a spouse's brokerage to accounts at other institutions, sits outside it. Truthifi pulls your linked accounts into a single view and checks them for fees, concentration and other issues: one decoded, benchmarked picture across your connected institutions, owned by you and ready for your AI. Job changes make this easy to miss. Your ADP pay history is tied to each employer's payroll setup, but the 401(k), brokerage and bank balances those paychecks built remain yours, so a view anchored to those accounts keeps your financial history continuous from one job to the next.

The short version
ADP runs your payroll, but it only shows one slice of your finances. To give your AI assistant the whole picture, what happens to that ADP paycheck across your bank, brokerage, and retirement accounts, including your net worth, connect those accounts with Truthifi. Setup takes a few minutes in your browser and starts on the free tier. Connect your accounts to your AI →
One ADP-specific check to try: after your next raise or deferral change, compare the 401(k) deduction on your next ADP statement with the contribution your plan's recordkeeper posts. If the two figures don't line up, ask your AI to trace the gap, then confirm the details with your plan administrator.
