Meta Muse with Robinhood and E*TRADE: a factual record of your trading

By Scott Blandford, Founder & CEO, Truthifi · Reviewed by the Truthifi Team · Published September 22, 2026

Most trading apps lead with current positions and recent orders, one account at a time, and they typically don't report on accounts held elsewhere. Hold accounts at Robinhood and E\*TRADE, and a plain question such as "what did I buy and sell this quarter?" turns into two histories and a spreadsheet. Meta Muse, Meta's personal AI agent, can't see either account on its own.

A Meta Muse Robinhood setup through Truthifi puts your accounts in one place. Once Muse is connected to your Truthifi account, it can pull the record together: what you hold, what you bought and sold, and how your investments did over a date range. It reports what happened. It doesn't tell you what to do next.

In short: to connect Meta Muse to Robinhood and E\*TRADE, check each app's status, link the ones you use in Truthifi, ask Muse to connect to your Truthifi account and click Authorize. Then ask for a record, not a tip.

The Robinhood and E\*TRADE gap Meta Muse fills

Hold the same company at Robinhood and at E\*TRADE, and your position in it sits in two accounts, with a month's buys and sells split across two order histories that each app reports in its own format. Truthifi pulls your linked Robinhood and E*TRADE accounts into a single view, so a cross-app total becomes one question Muse can answer with a record of what happened, in which account and when.

On every current consumer plan, within that plan's daily and monthly credit allowance, Truthifi can total buys, sells, dividends and other investment activity by period, and return your individual transactions a page at a time. According to Truthifi's MCP tools page, a transaction request longer than 90 days returns the most recent 90 days. Positions come back per account, either on a day you pick or as of each account's latest update. The same page lists dividend and capital-gain history for a security at up to 2 years per request.

With Connect Pro, Monitoring or higher, Meta Muse stock analysis gets a comparative view: your exposure to single stocks, including what you hold through funds, and your returns over a date range next to a similar benchmark. It also shows your portfolio split across market-cap sizes, for stocks and funds separately.

None of this is a recommendation. Truthifi is built to clean the record on the way in, labelling reinvested dividends correctly and matching the same security across accounts, so Muse works from consistent numbers rather than two apps' formats.

The best Meta Muse investing questions ask for totals, lists and comparisons. Our view: ask first the questions that span both apps, like a combined monthly total, since that's the answer neither the Robinhood nor the E\*TRADE history gives you by itself. Start each with "Using Truthifi":

  1. "Total my buys, sells and dividends by month this year, across all my accounts."

  2. "List my transactions in my E\*TRADE account over the last 90 days."

  3. "How is my portfolio split across market-cap sizes, for stocks and funds separately?"

  4. "Find recent news on the stocks I hold." (news works by stock ticker, not funds)

Ask your AI:

  • "Using Truthifi, what are my five biggest positions today?"

  • "Using Truthifi, how did my investments do this year against a benchmark?"

Two of Truthifi's ready-made prompts suit traders. "How I actually performed" separates investment return from money you paid in or took out, and needs Connect Pro, Monitoring or higher. "Schedule of investments" lines up every position by account, cost, value and gain side by side. A prompt on its own carries no account data; that only happens when Muse runs the tools behind it.

How the connection works

Muse never holds your app logins. Your brokerage accounts connect to Truthifi through a connection partner, and Muse reads your Truthifi data through Truthifi's MCP server once you sign in and click Authorize. MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the standard an AI assistant uses to call an outside service's tools.

Before you start

Muse is rolling out in the US on iOS, Android and muse.ai, according to Meta's launch post (2026). The same post says Muse is free up to a usage limit, and paid plans add more weekly usage. Every current consumer plan, free ones included, lets you connect your own AI assistant to Truthifi, so you can start free (limits apply). Use your own login: one Truthifi login per person, never shared, even inside a family or firm. Performance, market-cap and news questions need Connect Pro, Monitoring or higher; the pricing page lists what each plan adds.

Five-step setup

Muse has no settings screen for adding a server. Meta's help page on connectors (2026) describes asking Muse to create a custom connector instead, and these five steps follow that route.

  1. Link your accounts. Check each app's status at truthifi.com/connections, then link the accounts you use on Truthifi's page.

  2. Ask Muse to connect. Start a Muse chat and ask: "Please connect to my Truthifi account via Truthifi MCP." If Muse can't find it, add the address: "...using Truthifi's MCP server at https://api.truthifi.com/mcp."

  3. Sign in on Truthifi's page. Sign in only on Truthifi's own page when its sign-in appears. Never type your Truthifi password into the Muse chat.

  4. Click Authorize. When Truthifi's Authorize screen appears, it may list what the assistant can read, plus the three tools that change data inside Truthifi: adding or deleting assets you track by hand, and an on-demand refresh. Choose Authorize to connect, or Cancel to back out.

  5. Check it works. Ask "Using Truthifi, what are my balances?" and check that your trading accounts come back.

If Muse says it can't connect, repeat the request with the server address added. If that fails too, email support@truthifi.com.

Supported accounts

According to Truthifi's connections page, Truthifi connects to 18,000+ financial institutions through Plaid, Yodlee and By All Accounts. Both apps have their own status pages there, Robinhood and E\*TRADE. Check each brokerage's status before you link it, since statuses can change without notice. You can also add assets and debts by hand.

You sign in to your bank or broker through our connection partner, not through Truthifi or your AI assistant, and Truthifi never sees or stores your bank username or password. According to Truthifi's published product facts, Truthifi refreshes your data automatically once a day while the connection to your bank or broker is working. Your history goes back as far as each institution makes available.

How the security works

Muse can read your trading record through Truthifi, but because your bank and brokerage accounts are connected to Truthifi read-only, it has no way to move money, place trades or change anything in those accounts. A few Truthifi tools do change data inside Truthifi: adding or deleting assets you track by hand, and refreshing your data on demand.

Muse gets a sign-in token from Truthifi, never your password, and your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Unless you narrow it, your AI assistant can see all the accounts you've linked in Truthifi; to limit that, open Settings → Sharing and select the assistant. For the bigger question of linking accounts through an aggregator at all, see is it safe to connect your accounts?

Once Muse retrieves data from Truthifi, Meta handles that data under Meta's own terms. Meta's launch post (2026) says Muse doesn't share your conversations or its cloud computer's data with Meta's ad systems, and that you can opt out of training use.

Pay attention to approvals. According to Meta's launch post, Muse checks before sensitive actions and, by default, doesn't take many important actions without your approval. For a trader, that matters most on the on-demand refresh and hand-tracked asset tools. Whether Muse asks before running these tools depends on the assistant, not on Truthifi, so read what it plans to do before you confirm.

Disconnecting

There are two equivalent switches in Truthifi. Go to Connections → Agents → ⋯ → Revoke, then confirm, or open the Agents card on the Dashboard, choose Manage next to the assistant's name, then Revoke access. Meta's help says Muse connectors are disconnected under Settings → Connectors.

Revoking in Truthifi cuts the assistant off, even if the assistant still lists Truthifi. It doesn't delete what Muse already received. According to Meta's help page on connectors (2026), information Muse already used may stay in its memories and your conversation history, and you can ask Muse to forget it.

How this compares to your other options

Copying figures from Robinhood and ETRADE into Muse by hand works for one question, but the answer is only as current as your copy, and a second question means copying again. A Truthifi connection lets Muse ask Truthifi's tools for what it needs at the moment you ask, from the accounts you've linked, so the comparison holds up even as positions change.

The cost is credits, and a trader's questions are usually cheap. At the time of this update, the pricing page (2026) lists a monthly activity total across both apps as one call at 1 credit, and a positions snapshot at 2. A fresh pull from one app is listed at 3, which matters on a free plan: its 5 daily credits cover one snapshot plus one refresh. The same page lists Connect Pro at 20 credits a day and 75 a month for your assistant, and Connect Max at 75 a day and 400 a month. Allowances can change, so treat the figures below as a snapshot and check the pricing page for current ones.

Frequently asked questions

What is Truthifi?

Once linked, your accounts sit in one Truthifi view that's checked for fees, concentration and other issues. It connects to banks and brokers through Plaid, Yodlee and By All Accounts with read-only access, and it takes no commissions, shows no ads and gives no advice.

How do I connect Meta Muse to Robinhood?

To connect Meta Muse to Robinhood, link your Robinhood account on Truthifi's page, ask Muse to connect to your Truthifi account, sign in on Truthifi's own page, then click Authorize. The same steps work for an E*TRADE account. Check Robinhood's status at truthifi.com/connections first, since statuses can change without notice.

Will this work if I have accounts at more than one brokerage?

Yes. Once Robinhood and E\*TRADE both sit in one Truthifi view, Muse can answer questions that draw on both, such as a monthly total of buys and sells. You decide which accounts Muse sees in Truthifi's Settings → Sharing.

Does a Meta Muse Robinhood connection let Muse place trades?

No. At your bank and broker, Truthifi's access is read-only, so Muse can't move money or place trades through it. Any trade still happens in the Robinhood or E*TRADE app itself, under your own login there.

Is Meta Muse stock analysis the same as a trading tip?

No, Meta Muse stock analysis isn't the same as a trading tip. Muse can show your exposure to single stocks, recent news by ticker and your returns against a benchmark, but Truthifi's tools return facts about your accounts, not calls to buy or sell. Truthifi is not an investment adviser and doesn't give investment, tax or legal advice.

What are good Meta Muse investing questions for an active trader?

Ones that ask for the record: activity totals by period, transactions in one account over the last 90 days, positions on a given day, or returns next to a benchmark. Each usually has one factual answer, and that answer already sits in your linked accounts.

How far back can Muse see my trading activity?

It depends on the account. Truthifi builds your trading history from what each institution makes available, and a single request for individual transactions returns at most the most recent 90 days of activity. For positions and totals beyond that window, ask Muse which accounts are linked and how far back each one's data goes.

Can I link Robinhood and E*TRADE?

Yes. Truthifi's connections page lists both Robinhood and E\*TRADE, and you can link either or both. Check truthifi.com/connections for current status before you link, because statuses can change without notice. If an account can't be linked, you can still add assets by hand, and Muse can read whichever accounts end up linked.

How current is the data for an active trader?

Data is current as of the last automatic daily refresh, plus any refresh you ask for. The automatic refresh runs once a day, free, while the connection to your bank or broker is working; an on-demand refresh uses 3 credits. No refresh runs while your bank's data connection is down.

Do I need to keep Muse open?

No. Meta says Muse can keep working on a goal after you close the app. Each check it runs on your Truthifi data still spends Truthifi credits and follows your plan's tool limits, so match the goal to your plan before you set it up.

What plan do I need?

Any current consumer plan connects your own AI assistant, including the free ones, and covers positions, transactions and activity totals. Performance, market-cap mix and news questions need Connect Pro, Monitoring or higher, so check which plan you're on before asking those questions.

What if I see the same assistant listed more than once in Truthifi?

Revoke each entry under Connections → Agents. That's also where you can see, at any time, which AI assistants are connected to your Truthifi account.

A record you can ask about

Your first Muse request is really a test of the record itself. Ask for this month's buys and sells across Robinhood and E\*TRADE, then hold the total against what you remember trading. If it looks light, the likely cause is an account that isn't linked or a connection that's down, and truthifi.com/connections is where you'd see it. Once the record passes that test, Muse becomes a second reader of your own trading history: it can catch what you forgot, but it can't place a trade or hand you a tip. Get started with Truthifi

If you'd rather not set up an outside assistant at all, the built-in Truthifi AI agent is included in Monitoring and Monitoring Plus+. It's a separate product from connecting your own AI assistant.
