TradingView MCP: Add Your Whole Financial Picture to Your AI

By Truthifi Bot, Truthifi's research engine · Updated July 8, 2026

Reviewed by the Truthifi Team

Your AI assistant only gives you a useful answer about your money, not a generic chart read, when it sees two things at once: what the market is doing, and what you actually own. Across everything you connect, Truthifi's engine applies a versioned catalog of 263 correction types and 26 enrichment types, according to Truthifi's State of Financial Data report (request it). That means the account data your AI reasons over alongside your TradingView charts is normalized, not raw. TradingView covers the first half, with charts, indicators, and a community of ideas. Below: what a TradingView MCP can do today. Then, how to add the second half, your real accounts and net worth, decoded into one view your AI can reason about. No code needed, and it's free to start.

If you've ever finished a clean technical read and still couldn't ask your AI "given where my portfolio actually sits, what should this setup mean for me?", that's not a gap in your charting. That answer lives across accounts scattered in separate logins, in a layer a charting platform wasn't built to hold. Bring those accounts together and your AI can finally reason about the setup and your real position in the same conversation.

  1. Create a free Truthifi account. Sign up at truthifi.com — no credit card for the free tier.

  2. Link your accounts. Connect brokerage, retirement, bank and card accounts via Plaid, Yodlee, or Morningstar ByAllAccounts. Credentials don't pass through Truthifi.

  3. Turn on MCP access. Connecting your own AI assistant via MCP works on every current consumer plan, including free ones.

  4. Add Truthifi to your assistant. Add a custom connector with URL https://api.truthifi.com/mcp in your AI assistant's connector settings, and authorize.

  5. Turn it on and ask. Toggle Truthifi on and ask: What's my net worth, and am I on track to retire?

What is an MCP?

MCP, short for Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets an AI assistant read outside data live, with your permission, so you aren't pasting numbers or uploading screenshots of a chart. For a TradingView user, a "TradingView MCP" is a connector that pipes chart and indicator data into that conversation. It answers "what is the market doing?" and stops there. Pairing it with your real accounts is what lets your AI also answer "what does that mean for what I hold?" More on the protocol itself: Truthifi's MCP overview.

Does TradingView have an MCP server?

There's no official TradingView MCP server as of this update. TradingView hasn't published a first-party Model Context Protocol server; the MCP servers that exist are community-built, maintained outside TradingView, and connect using an API key and a config file. Either way, a single-provider connector only sees TradingView, not the rest of your accounts. For traders who want a whole-picture, read-only view behind their charts, Truthifi is the layer that adds it (details below, or learn more).

TradingView MCP at a glance:

Question

Short answer

Official TradingView MCP server?

No; TradingView hasn't published one

Community MCP servers?

Yes, built outside TradingView; they need an API key and a config file

General-purpose public market-data API?

No; TradingView's APIs target charting widgets and broker integration

What a TradingView MCP shows your AI

The market side: charts, indicators, ideas

What it can't show

Your real holdings, balances, fees, and net worth

How to add those

A read-only Truthifi connector, running alongside TradingView

This answer is dated October 8, 2026. If TradingView publishes a first-party server, the table above is where that change will show.

What TradingView does

TradingView is a charting, analysis, and social platform for the markets, pairing browser-based interactive charts with a large community of traders publishing ideas.1 According to TradingView's own site, it's designed for:

  • Advanced interactive charts: a deep set of built-in technical indicators and 110+ drawing tools across timeframes.

  • A huge community library: 100,000+ user-published indicators and strategies written in Pine Script.

  • Broad market coverage: global equities, ETFs, futures, forex, crypto, and indices, with real-time data on paid tiers.

  • Screeners, watchlists, and alerts: plus a social feed where traders share analysis.

  • Paper trading and broker integrations: place trades through a connected brokerage straight from the chart.

It runs a freemium model: a free Basic plan with charting, community indicators, and broad coverage, scaling through paid non-professional tiers up to professional plans, according to TradingView's public pricing page. Real-time exchange data, more charts per layout, more indicators, and more alerts unlock on higher tiers. Exact prices change often, so confirm current figures on the TradingView pricing page rather than relying on a quoted number.

About TradingView: a privately held charting and markets platform headquartered in New York, with offices in London, Málaga, and Tbilisi. (Founding year and founders are widely cited in tech press; TradingView's own site has the current specifics.)

Good to know about TradingView

Here are fast answers to the questions traders ask most often, according to the public discussion threads we reviewed:2

  • What does it cost? A free Basic plan exists; paid plans scale up for real-time data, more indicators, more charts, and more alerts. See pricing.

  • What's on the free plan? Core charting, community indicators, and broad market coverage, with ads and limits on indicators and alerts that lift on paid tiers.

  • What markets are covered? Global equities, ETFs, futures, forex, crypto, and indices, with real-time data gated to paid plans.

  • Who's this for, everyday users or developers? TradingView is a charting and analysis platform for traders, not a personal-finance product that tracks your real accounts and net worth.

That last question, seeing your real accounts rather than the market, is where adding Truthifi to your TradingView setup shines. The next section walks through exactly how, starting with TradingView's own API.

TradingView API: getting your TradingView data for AI

Does TradingView have an API? Not a general-purpose public market-data API. Its charting/widget and broker-integration APIs are built for embedding charts and routing trades, not for a read-only view of everything you hold. That's the gap a personal-data connector fills. Truthifi doesn't pull from TradingView; it gives your AI assistant read-only, programmatic access to your own brokerage, retirement, and bank account data over MCP (the Model Context Protocol). Think of it as the "TradingView API" a trader actually wants for AI: no code, no official TradingView API required, and credentials don't pass through Truthifi. Your assistant can query balances, holdings, and transactions across your connected accounts in one view, read-only by architecture. Connect your accounts to your AI →

How Truthifi can help

For a TradingView user, Truthifi links your real accounts to the same AI assistant that reads your charts. Accounts you link across 18,000+ institutions are decoded into clean data by an independent source: no commissions, no ads, no advice. Along the way, Truthifi's Refinery corrects and reconciles what it reads, running more than 6 billion data-quality operations every quarter, according to Truthifi, so your AI works from verified numbers. Once it's linked, here's what you can ask:

  • "Right now, what's my net worth across the accounts I've connected?"

  • "Am I making progress toward retirement, and what's dragging on my returns?"

  • "Which of my investments cost the most in fees?"

  • "Where am I most concentrated, and is that a risk?"

Picture an active trader who lives in TradingView: layouts dialed in, a few favorite indicators, alerts set, with a 401(k) at Fidelity, a Roth IRA at Vanguard, and a taxable account at Schwab. In a setup like this, it's easy for the chart to get close attention while the three accounts behind it drift out of sync. That's the profile this pairing fits: a trader who wants both the chart read and a clear-eyed view of what they actually hold. The chart read is sharp. But "given everything I actually hold, am I overexposed to this trade?" has lived across three separate logins that a charting platform can't see. Once those three accounts are connected, your AI can answer that in one question instead of three logins. When someone links a second account, they may spot things separate logins had been hiding. Two funds can turn out to hold mostly the same stocks, or a fee that never showed up on any single statement suddenly does.

TradingView powers the charting and analysis layer; Truthifi adds the personal-finance intelligence layer, decoding statements, aggregating accounts across institutions, and giving you a read-only, whole-picture view of your actual position. Put both in front of your AI and real questions get real answers:

  • "My setup is flashing a breakout. Given what I actually hold, how exposed am I to this name already?"

  • "TradingView says my sector's overbought. How concentrated am I in it across my connected accounts?"

  • "If I rotated toward what my analysis favors, what would it cost me in fees across my connected accounts?"

On scope: your TradingView charts stay exactly where they are, for reading the market, while Truthifi covers your personal accounts, investments, and net worth, read-only, decoded, cross-institution. Charts, indicators, and ideas stay in TradingView, and you keep using it for exactly that. Truthifi won't draw a trendline, run a Pine Script indicator, or judge whether a setup is any good; that's TradingView's strength, and it stays there. Truthifi doesn't connect TradingView; it's the complementary layer that brings your real financial picture, the accounts behind the chart, to the same AI.

Two ways to start. Run a free portfolio-analysis scan and let Truthifi turn your linked accounts into a single plain-language scorecard, or connect them to the AI assistant you already use and ask in plain English. Connecting your own AI assistant works on every current consumer plan, including the free ones; the full diagnostic suite (130+ automated diagnostics) and fee/benchmark analysis are part of the paid Monitoring plan ($8.99/mo or $79.99/yr as of October 2026).

Is it safe to connect my accounts to Truthifi?

These protections aren't mere promises. We'd rather be specific than reassuring. No online connection is entirely free of risk, but each safeguard below is built directly into how the connection works:

  • Read-only by architecture. Whatever your TradingView chart is telling you to do, Truthifi itself can't move money, place trades, or change a setting on your behalf. That limit is built into how this connection works, not just stated in a policy.

  • Credentials don't pass through Truthifi. In your browser, your login gets encrypted and sent directly to the aggregator, Plaid, Yodlee, or Morningstar ByAllAccounts, which hands back a read-only token.

  • Every request logged. You get per-tool daily and monthly counts of what each AI assistant accessed, useful for your own oversight.

  • Your linked brokerage and bank accounts carry Bank-grade encryption in transit and at rest, and you control access per account, revoking it anytime in your assistant's connector settings or inside Truthifi under Connections → Agents → Revoke.

How to connect your accounts to your AI assistant

There's no command line involved: the whole setup takes place in your browser, on any MCP-capable assistant.

  • Start by setting up a free Truthifi account at truthifi.com; no credit card is needed for the free tier.

  • Link your accounts: your brokerage, retirement, bank, and card accounts, through Truthifi's secure Plaid, Yodlee, or Morningstar ByAllAccounts connection.

  • Turn on MCP access: creating an account, connecting your accounts and running a portfolio-analysis scan works on every current consumer plan, including the free ones. The full diagnostic suite is part of the paid Monitoring plan ($8.99/mo or $79.99/yr as of October 2026).

  • Add Truthifi alongside TradingView in your assistant. The connector URL is the same across assistants: https://api.truthifi.com/mcp. Open your assistant's connector settings (usually Settings → Connectors), add a custom connector called Truthifi, paste in the URL, and authorize. (A paid plan is required for custom connectors on most assistants. Check the connect guides for exact, step-by-step setup on your particular assistant.)

  • Turn it on, then ask your assistant: "Given my charts and my accounts together, what's my net worth, and am I on track to retire?"

What you can ask your AI

  • "Today, what's my net worth across the accounts I've connected?"

  • "Does my current savings rate put me on track to retire? Model conservative, moderate, and optimistic cases."

  • "Total up the fund fees I'm paying across my connected accounts this year, and show the 10-year cost at 7% growth."

  • "Where am I most concentrated, by holding, sector, and single account, and is any of it a risk?"

  • "Stress-test my whole portfolio against a 2008-style drop: how far would I fall, and how long to recover?"

  • "Before I act on this chart, do I already own the ticker indirectly through a fund in my 401(k) or IRA?"

  • "The market's down sharply this week. How much did my actual net worth move?"

  • "If I move $5,000 from savings into investing, what does it do to my net worth over 10 and 20 years?"

With & Without Truthifi

A basic connector gets one account into your AI, much as a TradingView MCP gets one chart feed in. That part works, and it's useful. Truthifi sits a layer above: it turns raw account feeds into verified, household-level figures your AI can reason on.

Common questions about TradingView

Is TradingView worth it? It comes down to whether you want deep, interactive charts, a big indicator library, and a community of ideas, TradingView is built for exactly that, and the free Basic plan lets you test before paying. If your real question is "where do I actually stand financially," that's a personal-account view, adding Truthifi brings your real holdings into your AI alongside the analysis.

What do people say about TradingView? In the threads we reviewed, most of the conversation is among traders about charting depth, the Pine Script community, and which features sit behind paid tiers. Real-time data and more alerts come up often, as does the lack of a general public API for pulling data out. If what you want is to see your own portfolio rather than the market, adding a connector like Truthifi addresses that directly.

Are there alternatives to TradingView? Other charting platforms exist. But if what you actually want is an AI that sees your whole financial life, your real holdings and net worth, not just charts, that's a connector like Truthifi. It sits on top of the accounts you already have, alongside whatever charting tool you use.

Does TradingView have an API I can pull data from? TradingView doesn't publish a general-purpose public market-data API, which likely explains why community MCP servers tend to lean on scrapers, Pine Script tooling, or browser automation. For your personal accounts, Truthifi gives your AI a no-code, read-only connection instead.

Does Truthifi connect TradingView itself? No. TradingView is the charting and analysis layer in your setup; Truthifi is the complementary, read-only layer that brings your personal accounts to the same AI. They sit side by side, Truthifi doesn't replace or plug into TradingView.

Do I need to write code to set up Truthifi? No. The entire Truthifi setup runs in your browser, no command line, API keys, or config files. (The community TradingView MCP servers do involve code; Truthifi does not.)

Which AI assistants does Truthifi work with? In principle, any MCP-capable assistant should work. MCP is an open standard, and a growing range of assistants can use the same Truthifi connector URL.

Truthifi and the data layer

TradingView solved a real, hard problem: turning raw market data into charts and signals that traders can read and build on. That work holds up well for its purpose. Account data has its own version of the problem, because what institutions hand over is still Encoded, in the raw form they provide it. Truthifi is the complementary layer that turns it into Decoded, Verified, and yours, with 130+ automated diagnostics available on the Monitoring plan, according to Truthifi's figures. Positions and fees on your connected accounts are typically refreshed automatically about once a day, as long as the connection to your bank or broker is working. That gives your AI one whole-picture foundation to reason over, so you aren't re-explaining your holdings each time. TradingView reads the market; Truthifi decodes, verifies, and hands you your own numbers. As more AI assistants adopt MCP, this pairing can become the groundwork for richer, ongoing financial conversations with your AI.

The short version

TradingView powers the charting and analysis layer in your stack. If you want your AI to see your own financial picture too, your real holdings and net worth alongside the charts, connect your accounts with Truthifi. It takes about three minutes, free to start and no code required. Once both sit in the same conversation, the useful question shifts from "is this a good trade?" to "is this a good trade for the portfolio I already hold?"

Try one test before your next alert fires: ask your AI whether you already own that ticker through a fund in another account. If the answer surprises you, the blind spot wasn't in your charts; it was in the accounts behind them. Connect your accounts to your AI →
