Wealthfront does not offer an official MCP server or a public API, so there's no direct way to plug it into an AI assistant. The working route today is Truthifi. You link Wealthfront and your other accounts read-only, add one connector URL to your assistant, and start asking real questions about your money. No code, about three minutes. Get started with Truthifi
Our recommendation: let Wealthfront keep doing what it's built for, automated rebalancing and daily automatic gain/loss offsetting in the accounts it manages, and use Truthifi to see how those trades sit next to what you hold elsewhere. Wealthfront has no official MCP as of October 2026, and that cross-account question doesn't need to wait for one. If you've ever seen a solid return on your Wealthfront dashboard and still couldn't answer am I actually on track, given everything I have?, you're asking the right question. That return number covers your Automated Investing, Cash, and Stock Investing accounts. It doesn't include an employer 401(k) or a spouse's brokerage. Bring those accounts together and your AI can see the whole picture.
What is an MCP?
An MCP (Model Context Protocol) lets an AI assistant read your data directly, live, through a connection you grant and can cut anytime, instead of copy-pasting numbers. It's an open standard, first introduced by Anthropic and now supported by a growing range of AI assistants. A "Wealthfront MCP" is simply that plug for your Wealthfront data.
Does Wealthfront have an MCP server?
Short answer (as of October 8, 2026): No. Wealthfront has no official MCP server and no public API, and the working no-code route is a read-only connector such as Truthifi.
Connectivity today runs through financial data aggregators such as Plaid. There's no developer shortcut, but there is a no-code path that covers your whole financial picture: Truthifi fills that gap for your Wealthfront account and everything else you hold (below, or What is Truthifi Connect?).
What Wealthfront does
Wealthfront is an automated investing platform. By its own description, it's built on the idea that sophisticated wealth management should be broadly accessible, without high minimums or a traditional advisor.1 It was founded in 2011 by Andy Rachleff and Dan Carroll and is headquartered in Palo Alto, CA. Wealthfront's SEC Form S-1 reported roughly $80 billion in platform assets and about 1.2 million funded clients as of January 31, 2025; check wealthfront.com for current totals. Its offerings include:
Automated Investing Account: builds and manages globally diversified index-fund portfolios with automated rebalancing, daily automatic gain/loss offsetting, and risk-score customization. (0.25% annual advisory fee)
Cash Account: high-yield cash management with up to 4.20% APY as of our Wealthfront site review (rate subject to change and conditional on balance/boost requirements). Wealthfront's disclosures describe up to $8M FDIC insurance through program banks; confirm current coverage on wealthfront.com. It also offers 24/7 free instant withdrawals.
Stock Investing Account: self-directed, commission-free stock and ETF trading starting at $1.
Direct Indexing: S&P 500 Direct and Nasdaq-100 Direct for tax-efficient individual-stock replication (0.12%–0.25% additional fee depending on balance tier, per the Wealthfront site review cited below).
Automated Bond Ladder: systematic ladder of individual bonds for predictable income.
Retirement and education accounts: Traditional IRA, Roth IRA, SEP IRA, and 529 Education Savings Accounts.
Home loans: a self-serve mortgage product (portfolio loan) with rate lock.
Joint/couples accounts for shared saving and investing.
Good to know about Wealthfront
Here's quick context on what people ask most about Wealthfront:2
What does it cost? Per Wealthfront's published pricing at the time of our review, the Automated Investing Account charges a 0.25% annual advisory fee. The Stock Investing Account is commission-free with a $1 minimum. The Cash Account has no account fees. Direct Indexing adds 0.12%–0.25% depending on balance tier. Pricing changes, so confirm current fees on wealthfront.com.
Does it offer human advisors? Wealthfront's advice is algorithm-driven, designed for straightforward, long-term automated investing goals. If your situation is more complex, you can weigh the algorithm-only model against your needs and connect your other accounts so an AI assistant can see the fuller picture alongside it.
How does the automatic gain/loss offsetting work? Wealthfront runs its own automatic gain/loss offsetting. Truthifi stays read-only and simply lets your AI see unrealized gains and losses across your connected accounts.
What are the annualized returns? As displayed on wealthfront.com for its risk score 9 composite portfolio, through May 2026: since inception 9.82%; 1-year 26.63%; 5-year 9.77%; 10-year 11.47%.1 Treat the 1-year figure with care. It reflects a single strong 12-month window for a higher-risk, equity-heavy composite, so the 5- and 10-year figures are a steadier guide. Your own risk score and timing will produce different numbers, so check the live page for current figures. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
What about the rest of my financial picture? Wealthfront optimizes the slice it manages. Your 401(k), HSA, real estate, crypto, and outside brokerage accounts live in different places. Seeing all of it together is where an AI connector adds the most.
Wealthfront API: getting your Wealthfront data for AI
Does Wealthfront have an API? Not a public one for your own account data. Connecting Wealthfront through Truthifi gives your AI assistant read-only, programmatic access to your Wealthfront account data over MCP (the Model Context Protocol) — the practical "Wealthfront API" for AI, with no code and no official Wealthfront API required. Your assistant can query balances, holdings, and transactions across Wealthfront and your other connected accounts in one view. Connect your accounts to your AI →
How Truthifi can help
With Wealthfront connected, Truthifi brings your whole financial picture into one view your AI can reason about: accounts across 18,000+ institutions, decoded into clean data rather than a raw feed, and from an independent source with no commissions, no ads, no advice. Along the way, Truthifi's Refinery corrects and reconciles what it reads, so your AI works from verified numbers. For your investment accounts, Truthifi runs 130+ automated diagnostics (portfolio-health checks, as described on truthifi.com and reviewed June 18, 20262) and reconciles holdings with synthetic share accounting, so cash moving in or out doesn't distort your true performance. Once it's connected, try asking:
"What's my net worth across my connected accounts right now?"
"Am I on track to retire, and what's dragging on my returns?"
"Which of my investments cost the most in fees?"
"Where am I most concentrated, and is that a risk?"
Here's a worked example to check against your own setup. Say you hold S&P 500 Direct at Wealthfront and an S&P 500 index fund in a 401(k) at Fidelity. Wealthfront's dashboard reports clearly on the first, while the 401(k) sits outside its view. Asked about both together, your AI can show how much of the same large-cap exposure you may hold twice, and whether fees are stacking up on two platforms you've never compared side by side.
There's a less obvious reason the cross-account view matters with Wealthfront specifically. Its automatic gain/loss offsetting works from the accounts Wealthfront manages. If you buy a substantially identical fund in an outside IRA or 401(k) around the same time Wealthfront harvests a loss, the wash-sale rule may disallow that loss. Truthifi doesn't give tax advice, but with your accounts connected, your AI can flag overlapping positions worth raising with a tax professional.
With all your accounts in front of your AI, the pieces work together. For example:
"Wealthfront's automated portfolio is up this year, but my 401(k) is lagging. Where's the drag?"
"Given my Wealthfront account, my IRA, and my crypto holdings, what's my real asset allocation?"
"If I move $500 a month from my Cash Account into my Automated Investing Account, what does that do to my net worth over 10 years?"
Because Truthifi reads directly from your institutions, there's little manual upkeep. On scope: Truthifi covers investments, net worth, and your whole balance sheet. Wealthfront's automated rebalancing and automatic gain/loss offsetting stay inside Wealthfront, and you keep using it to run your portfolio. Truthifi sits alongside it as the layer that brings your whole financial picture together.
Start free. Link your Wealthfront account and everything else you hold, and run a portfolio-analysis scan at no cost. Connecting the AI assistant you already use is free on every plan; the paid Monitoring plan ($8.99/mo or $79.99/yr as of October 2026) adds fee, performance, and concentration diagnostics for your Wealthfront accounts alongside the rest.
How to connect your accounts to your AI assistant
You can do the entire setup in your browser on any MCP-capable assistant, with no command line involved.
Create a free Truthifi account at truthifi.com, no credit card for the free tier.
Link your accounts: your Wealthfront Automated Investing, Cash, Stock Investing, or retirement accounts, plus any brokerage, 401(k), IRA, or crypto accounts you hold elsewhere, through Truthifi's secure Plaid, Yodlee, or Morningstar ByAllAccounts connection.
Turn on MCP access for your Wealthfront data. The account and a portfolio-analysis scan are free; the full diagnostic suite is part of the paid Monitoring plan ($8.99/mo or $79.99/yr as of October 2026).
Add Truthifi to your assistant. The connector URL is the same everywhere: https://api.truthifi.com/mcp (more on the Truthifi MCP page). Open your assistant's connector settings, usually under Settings → Connectors, add a custom connector named Truthifi, paste that URL, and authorize. Some assistants limit custom connectors to paid plans, and those policies change, so check your assistant's current plan details. The Wealthfront connect guides linked below walk through setup step by step for your specific assistant.
Turn it on and ask: "What's my net worth across my connected accounts, and am I on track to retire?"
What you can ask your AI
"What's my total net worth across my Wealthfront account and my other connected accounts right now?"
"Am I on track to retire at 60? Model conservative, moderate, and optimistic scenarios."
"What am I paying in total fees, Wealthfront's advisory fee plus anything else across my accounts, and what does that cost me over 20 years?"
"Where am I most concentrated by holding, sector, and geography across my connected accounts?"
"Do any of my Wealthfront direct-indexed holdings overlap with ETFs I hold elsewhere?"
"Stress-test my whole portfolio against a 2008-style drop: how far would I fall, and how long to recover?"
"If I increase my Automated Investing contributions by $300 a month, what's the effect on my net worth in 10 and 20 years?"
"Find any duplicate or overlapping holdings across my Wealthfront and other accounts that I didn't realize I had."
With & Without Truthifi
A basic connector gets an account into your AI, and that part works well enough on its own. Truthifi sits on top, turning those raw feeds into verified, household-level truth your AI can reason on.

Is it safe to connect my accounts to Truthifi?
No online connection is ever completely risk-free, but these protections are built into how the connection works:
Read-only by architecture. Truthifi can't move money, place trades, or change a setting. That constraint lives in the connection itself, not in a terms-of-service promise.
Credentials never pass through Truthifi. Your login is encrypted in your browser and passed straight to the aggregator (Plaid, Yodlee, or Morningstar ByAllAccounts), which returns a read-only token.
Every request logged. You get per-tool daily and monthly counts of what each AI assistant accessed, useful for your own oversight.
Bank-grade encryption in transit and at rest, and you control access per account. Revoke it anytime in your assistant's connector settings or inside Truthifi under Connections → Agents → Revoke. More detail: how Truthifi keeps your accounts secure.
For financial advisors
Your clients' Wealthfront accounts can be exactly the held-away assets you don't see: algorithm-managed, outside your custodian, and harvesting on their own schedule. If you're an RIA or financial advisor, it's the same idea pointed at your book: connect your clients' accounts, Wealthfront plus the other custodians and held-away accounts they hold elsewhere, and ask your AI assistant questions across the whole book, read-only. Truthifi can't trade, bill, or change a setting at Wealthfront or anywhere else; it sits as a decoded, cross-custodian context layer on top of the systems you already run.
Where it helps most is with held-away assets, assets a client holds outside Wealthfront that never show up in your primary view. With everything connected, your AI can answer book-level and per-client questions:
"Which clients are paying the most in total fees across my connected accounts, not just what I manage?"
"Flag allocation drift over 5% from target across my connected households this quarter."
"Which households have idle cash over $50k across my connected custodians right now?"
"For my top households, total fees and concentration across Wealthfront and each connected outside account."
Truthifi is additive. It is not a portfolio-management system, a CRM, or a custodian, and it's not a replacement for Wealthfront. It brings whole-picture context that Wealthfront alone, or any single custodian, can't see.

Common questions about Wealthfront
Is Wealthfront worth it? At 0.25% annually, the value depends on whether automated rebalancing, daily automatic gain/loss offsetting, and a hands-off approach match your needs. The platform's own performance figures are a starting point; the broader question, whether your whole portfolio is on track, is one an AI can answer once your accounts are connected.
What do people say about Wealthfront? In our reading of public reviews (NerdWallet, Investopedia, Forbes Advisor, and Trustpilot aggregates), much of the discussion centers on the algorithm-only model. Reviewers generally describe it as a good fit for hands-off, long-term automated goals. If your situation is more complex, a connector like Truthifi lets your AI see your connected accounts in one place.
Are there alternatives to Wealthfront? Other robo-advisors and brokerage platforms exist. But if what you actually want is an AI that sees your whole financial life, automated portfolio and everything else, that's a connector like Truthifi. It sits on top of the accounts you already have, alongside whatever platform you keep using.
Does Wealthfront have a public API? No public developer API is available from Wealthfront. Third-party connectivity runs through financial data aggregators such as Plaid, not a direct API.
Do I need to write code to set up Truthifi? No. The entire Truthifi setup runs in your browser, no command line, API keys, or config files.
Which AI assistants does Truthifi work with? Truthifi uses MCP, an open standard supported by a growing range of AI assistants. Any MCP-capable assistant can connect to Truthifi using the same connector URL.
Is it safe to connect my Wealthfront account to Truthifi? Access is read-only by architecture, credentials never pass through Truthifi, data is bank-grade encrypted in transit and at rest. You control access per account and you can revoke it at any time.
Truthifi and your accounts beyond Wealthfront
By design, Wealthfront's own view covers what you hold there, in your Automated Investing and Cash accounts. The rest of your household, from held-away retirement accounts to a spouse's brokerage to accounts at other institutions, sits outside it. Truthifi shows you what you hold at your connected institutions, and what it's all costing you.

The short version
Start with one check. List the funds in your outside 401(k) or IRA that track the same index as your Wealthfront Automated Investing or Direct Indexing holdings. Those are the positions where a harvested loss and an outside purchase can collide, and where fees may be stacking on the same exposure. A single-provider dashboard isn't positioned to check that. Once your accounts are connected, ask your AI: "Where do my Wealthfront holdings overlap with what I own elsewhere?" Starting is free, takes about three minutes, and needs no code.
